There are some excellent dishes on this menu - dosai and chaat are particular favourites. The service is always friendly and helpful. This is restaurant that I keep coming back to - I haven't found a better Indian restaurant in Sydney.

Lunch time on Boxing Day was never going to be easy! The service was pretty disorganized, although very polite and professional in dealing with the problems.

The ambient noise level was just below my pain threshold, many people talking, a low droning air on struggling with the heat and the sound system turned up loud, either to drown out these other sources of noise, or, perhaps, to encourage customers to eat and go quickly on such a busy day.

Having said all that, the food was worth the wait, confusion and noise, it ranged from fine but unexceptional to excellent and unusual. It was also good value for money. I'll go back but not on a lunchtime in the sales!

Friendly, comfortable and modern atmosphere. Service was very attentive without being intrusive. The mains were hearty and tasty, if a little on the salty side for our tastes. The antipasto was lovely. The drinks list is good. A little on the pricey side but it is the city centre and its quality food served well in a pleasant environment. Lombardian cuisine, at least as presented here, seems to have points that distinguish it from Italian cuisine.

Awful. Dirty dark dungeon with self service area with an odd mix of food, mainly Korean. The food struggled, and mostly failed, to be mediocre. The $10 lunch deal might look good, but even without the $5 penalty for failing to eat what you serve yourself, there are many local food all stalls that surpass this in quality and value. I cannot think of any possible reason to eat here.

Extremely good food in a low key atmosphere. Just off the main drag in Australia's seediest suburb. The ambience and atmosphere is pretty relaxed and low key. The service is friendly and competent. The wine list was rather obscure. The food was magnificent, delivering decent portions of quality produce with great creativity, you could marvel at the art and innovation, savour the flavours and feel well fed.

Chocolate Stores

Without a doubt, the best chocolate in Sydney can be found here. There's a wide range of beautiful chocolates. The chocolate truffles are particularly impressive, some with unusual fillings giving unique tastes. For the connoisseur there's also a range of single origin chocolates to experience the different flavours. They also make simpler and fun chocolates, all of high quality. Not chocolate, but they also do some amazing fudge.

It's a cozy little shop with the product being made at the back, although it's in rather an odd location on a windswept big road leading towards The Cross. The owners are friendly and helpful, and clearly passionate about chocolate.

I just realised that my review from 2007 was still up and badly needs correcting. Back then I scored Pinos:

6 Average: Food 8, Ambience 7, Service 3, Value 6

Well some things have changed, and all the right ones. The food is still excellent and importantly the service has now joined it. Actually the menu had a make-over about a year ago, introducing some great new dishes and keeping a lot of old favourites. And, it's as busy as ever.

Original review below - We have eaten here about forty times over the last four or five years, it's our favourite Italian. The food is great, albeit a bit variable, sometimes it is excellent, but it always good. The best thing I can say about the service is that it is improving. We boycotted the place for several months after experiencing the rudest service I have ever had. But the food drew us back eventually.

They are always busy, phone ahead on a weekend. I assume that they can get away with the poor service because the place is packed with people who keep coming back for the food. The pizza is great. The various steak dishes on the special board are excellent. Probably the piece de resistance is the Spaghetti All' Aragosta (half a lobster on spaghetti), awesome (but not a budget dish).

The only dish that disappointed me was the Osso Buca which was not sufficiently "melt in the mouth" and not rich in enough.

The Yum Cha is really good. It has to be because most everything else about this place isn't. The worst is the queue and their dishonesty about how long it will take. You are always told 45 mins, when it is often 1.5 hours. When you finally get seated, there is usually a real shortage of trolleys circulating. But when you get some food, it is generally very good.

Korean food doesn't get better than this. I have been to Korea many times and eaten in many Korean restaurants in Australia and this place is as good as it gets. The menu is not huge, but the choice of dishes is excellent and they are well prepared with quality ingredients. My favourite starter is the Pajeon (seafood pancake). Pajeon is one of my favourites, anyway, but here it is crispy all over, well filled and has a wonderful taste.

When it comes to the mains, I don't have just one favourite. The Sam Ge Tang that others have mentioned is a very special dish, soup with a whole chicken stuffed with rice, ginseng, garlic, jujube (like dates). Of the sizzling BBQ meat dishes I prefer the Bulgogi to the Galbi, but they are both great. The Altang (spicy fish roe stew) is both unusual and excellent. The ambience is quiet and pleasant. The service, especially from the piano-playing manager, is very friendly and helpful. It is a little bit tucked out of the way, but well worth looking for. Very highly recommended.
