I've eaten here a few times and always found it excellent. True, I've only had the degustation so maybe that turns out to be better value for money for some reviewers below who felt portion sizes are too small. Trust me, I'm bigger than most of you and I've not been hungry by the end. Her Indoors can't get through it at all.

Service can get a bit iffy at times (you seem to wait a time for an Asahi, not always just sometimes). Its not awful but I guess people are right to expect more for here.

But absolutely would be back anytime and its some of the best sushi I've had, here or anywhere.

Back to Akis for the first time in a while and must say the food was exceptionally good. Don't see that the food is that overpriced for a city restaurant especially on the Wharf.

Don't get me too wrong on the service score. The front of house were all very nice, full command of the menu and I overheard quiet a bit of wine advice povided. No issues at all there.

But you do seem to wait a long time for the food to come out. Normally I'm all for slow food and don't need the entree 2 minutes after ordering it (indeed I'd be worried about what happens when the micowave packs it in) but I will add my sense that you do seem to wait quite a while for the food to arrive. For what we ordered I contend it shoudl have been out quicker.

The food itslf is pretty good and I will be back just for that. I guess forewarned is forearmed. I'll bring a book with me!

Always a fan of this place. Went for Sunday lunch a few weeks back with the wife's family (originally from bangalore) and it was, well, bloody awesome. Still turns out really good and interesting Indian food (not butter chicken or other gora-fied stuff).

True, he's not cheap and well expensive if you think tandoori a la bain maire is the height of Indian food. I don't know why people complain about being shocked by the prices. Its on the menu sunshine.

My review is with some trepidation; its not a big place and I still want to be able to book for the weekend! But its been lovely, over a couple of nights only one dish (a prawn ravioli which tasted of little) has been ordinary and some of the others really great. Good service from the more experienced waiter. Ambience is down due to the odd bathroom arrangement. When that gets sorted it will be pretty much my fave Parra place to eat. Otherwise very good value for money.

As a local pub its fine. But when I went there the other Sunday and told it would be "at least a 1 hour "wait for them to make me a burger, well, I went somewhere else. I'm ok with having to wait if its busy but over an hour is too long. Seemed to be only 1 poor person in the kitchen too, so he was working like a trojan.

The siren call of the JS Golden ale will bring me back but don't plan on eating anything quick sticks on a weekend.

Eaten here a few times. Its a little out of the way (wasn't easy to find the first time). Has more of a cafe feel about it than fine restaurant. But, food is very good and you can't argue the excellent value for money. I can't see why you wouldn't be very happy to pay what you do for the 5 course degustation. Up the road you can easily pay twice as much for food not as good as it is here (NB this is not an excuse for a price rise!). Wish I could draw smiley face.

Overall a very nice place for a meal, although you do feel like you are descending into the dungeon when you go down the stairs. Food very nice and well cooked so very good intepretations of Spanish food here. The best Spanish food in Sydney? Don't know about that but that might be an altogether sad indictment of what has happened to a number of restaurants further down George st, all of which to have sadly become quite mediorce. Would be happy to go back here anytime though.

Been here a few times, only because the wife likes it. But then she's not trying to get drinks in is she. Must admit the odd decent meal but its much more often what I'd get at the pub. Interesting hiring policy for the waitstaff (and you do get the sense a lot of tourist/ backpackers working/ saving for the bus up the coast). Pretty much all I'm far too good looking to be bothered with serving you types. The rest is just inexperience it seems to me.

What really gets up me though is the Stasi policy around running a tab. Since when was this meant to be so hard? You have to leave your credit card plus picture ID plus (non mobile) phone number. What's next? Fingerprinting?? All I want is a beer or three and a couple of glasses of wine for the wife but why does it have to be made so difficult. Without trying to sound like to much of a AH I've travelled around the world and not had anything like this effort in getting some beers in.

If the owners are wondering why they can't make the rent maybe they should try hiring some good staff, which may not be Miss World candidates, and rethinking policies that don't drive any punter up the road.
