This used to be the place to go for Yum Cha but the last time that I went there for lunch, I wasn't blown away like I used to.

I've never had dinner here so I gave it on chance two nights ago and hoping for the best. Was I wrong. Let's start with the service. They brought out the live lobster promptly to show us what it looks like. Fifteen minutes later, our first main came out (which was peking duck). Then we waited 55 minutes without any food coming out.

After complaining to a waiter, 3-4 other people came over to our table one at a time within the space of 15 minutes taking a look at what we've ordered. Another 10 minutes went by with no food. We threatened to walk out by this point and only then that the lobster dish came out (nearly one and a half hour after the first main).

From this point on, it got worse and worse. Everything was waaaayy too salty. Lobster with xo sauce wasn't edible. I don't know whether the kitchen staff had spilled the salt into the wok or what. Not only that, the sauce didn't look like xo sauce at all. Then Peking duck. We were served only 6 small portions of San Choy Bow from 1 whole duck. I'm pretty sure there's more meat to a whole duck than that. When asked, the waiter just shrugged. The rest of the food that came out had just one taste.....salt.

King Prawn in duck egg yolk, Chow mein, Pork flambe, Hot and sour soup. They were all too salty. The only edible food of the night was roast duck with taro in batter. Finally, the complimentary sweet. My fiance found a hair in her bowl of red bean dessert. That was enough to made everyone put down their spoon. Sorry, Iron Chef. I won't be visiting you for dinner again.
