We went for a girls' day out. The food was delicious and inventive. Fortunately we were in no hurry, as the staff weren't either. A beautiful setting, though the restaurant was a bit hard to find if you relied on signage in the park. Would go again just because of the food.

Great staff and service, generous platters. A pity the meat is so overcooked. We won't be back.

Saturday morning brekkie at Cafe Mint is such a treat! Love the hummos based dishes which are a refreshing change from the usual cafe menu of eggs, eggs and more eggs. The coffee is okay, but the food is great.

I love sausages, and clearly so do the staff at Smash Sausage Kitchen. The wait staff uniform even includes a t-shirt with "I heart sausage" printed on the front. There's more than sausages on the menu, but our party of four decided to all go the sausage route. Reports were positive on all four types of sausage (including the vegetarian sausages, which I thought were seriously delicious), three types of mash and two types of gravy. The gravy was more like a jus and not at all pasty.
It's a fun kind of place with friendly service. We even sampled some of the desserts - yum! I'd go back just for the desserts, particularly the banoffee (bananas + toffee) pie. The overall sense you get from this restaurant is that these guys are serious about good quality in whatever they serve. We'll be back to try more of the menu.

Pretty good for Harris Park. (How can one small area have so many mediocre Indian restaurants?) The naan were light and lovely, and the bhindi were cooked well and not overcooked. Other than that, food preparations and seasonings seemed to have a distinctly Chinese or Southeast Asian influence.

What a surprise! Mexican food in Australia can be sooooo bad. But Dos Senoritas is excellent. It's definitely not Tex-Mex, so don't expect jalapeños everywhere. But there is still plenty of spice. Importantly, the flavours are clear and clean. That is what distinguishes this restaurant.
We went with friends on a Saturday night, got seated right away (be sure to book as the restaurant is not large) and were immediately given chips and salsa. We decided to try a variety of dishes so we could get a real feel for the place. Everything was good, but to us the standouts were the Mexican Crock Pot (pork chile verde) entree and the enchiladas. Portions are large.
Unlike some of the reviewers we had no service issues at all. Maybe we were just lucky, or maybe the owner has taken reviewers' comments to heart and made some changes.
We will definitely be back.

Delicious flavours, quick and helpful service, and dishes that can be tailored to your preference. Their mapo dofu is outstanding. We'll be back the next time we're in Rockie.

We went to the Sofitel Lounge for high tea. The tea was good, the champagne was outstanding, but sadly the food fell short despite looking beautiful. The scones for example were like rocks. I would go for drinks to the Sofitel, but for the sandwiches and desserts of high tea I would head elsewhere.

What a wonderful Greek restaurant! Our group of four unanimously agreed that the food was excellent. One person even said that the desserts were the best Greek sweets he had ever tasted. Everything was tasty and beautifully prepared, although the lamb souvlaki was a bit overcooked and dry. But the slow roasted lamb was succulent and delicious, and all of the other mains and starters - including the haloumi, which is so easy to overcook - were spot on. We would go back there in a heartbeat. But be aware that in what they call the "off season" they are actually closed for Monday dinner despite what their website says.

It used to be great: tasty, fast and cheap.
Back then it was just called North Indian Diner. Those in the know at nearby Sydney Uni called it NID from its initials, and "Let's go to NID" was a common phrase at lunch time amongst our crowd, particularly when someone had a craving for butter chicken.
Today there's a lot more variety to choose from at NID (or Tamana's to most of you). That's the good news. Of course prices have risen, although they have risen faster than inflation and so the value for money is not as great as it once was. But the big difference has been in the food quality, and that's really sad.
The last time we had their butter chicken (a couple of weeks ago) it was terrible. It hadn't been at its best for several years, but we had decided to live with the change. This last batch, however, would have been an embarrassment to any kitchen staff who understands that butter chicken is chicken that actually spends some time being cooked in the sauce rather than just being dumped in the sauce at the last minute. The sauce was still good, but the chicken was bland and boring.
Bland? Boring? You don't see those words applied to popular Indian food very often. We'll try NID one more time in hopes that the last outing was an aberration. After that, we're done.
