This place has been a real find! Food is so fresh, a punch of beautiful flavours, servings are big and it is just sooooo cheap! The restaurant itself is very plain, no decor and the service is hit and miss, as soon as they're busy they lose the plot, but for the price I am not expecting 5 stars staff. They always very polite anyway. A gem for a quick and cheap but tasty fix.

I went there on a weekday with a couple of friends, one of them from the South of China, she ordered for everyone, I just trusted her as it was my second yum cha ever.

We got there at 11 and by midday the place was full. The food was just amazing, and cheap! Bill came to $15 each for the 3 of us. We had few different dishes (probably 6-7), from buns to chicken feet, which I was a bit scared to try but were just delicious!, and also ordered a special. Trolleys kept coming around, I didn't feel the lack of service and lack of variety that I can read through the previous comments.

Service is Chinese restaurant style, no fuss, and the place itself is just big and kind of anonymous. Really good value for money, I'll definitely be back for a easy meal with friends!

Been there with a Thai friend, according to here it's the best Thai in Sydney (would still be less than average in Thailand though). I am not a fan of Thai food, but I enjoy their cashew chicken and their snapper in chilli sauce, but last time the sauce was just too much and too overpowering.

Service is a bit of a hit and miss. Staff is always friendly and smiling but dishes usually come out with no order and everything is just slammed on the table. They are just waiting for you to leave and give your seats to the next customer.

Good value for money, but definitely not my pick for a dinner out.

I have been recommended this place by many and finally I went there a couple of weeks ago. I am in love with this Real Italian restaurant. Food is real Italian comfort food, pizza is amazing and the place itself reminds me of the restaurants in Italy, with the long desk and the bar full of bottles.

Both mains of pasta and meat/fish are huge, I walked out stuffed! Fettuccine Moretti are to die for, something to absolutely try. Food can take a while, but I like to go out for fine food not for fast food, so I don't mind. I can't wait to be back and try all the delicious dishes on the menu!

I have been here twice, months apart, but the food has been exactly the same, delicious! Oh, a place that offer consistency! They have the best Salt and Pepper squid, light and crunchy, a must to order. Really enjoy the place, and the service is quick and with a smile. Very good value!

Went there on Sunday morning, place was bustling, location is amazing, can't be closer to the beach. After a 10 minutes wait we were seated and within minutes orders were taken. My pancakes were beautiful, a large serving with a lot of blueberries, my partner got the big breakfast which wasn't amazing, saw some plates with different things coming through and they were looking a lot more inviting, bad choice probably, and a bit poor of bacon, one miserable slice.

I had a the Balmoral drink with lime and orange juice and egg, definitely something to try once. Nice place but not my first choice for my breakfast fix.

Went there before a concert at the Hordern Pavillion. Food was good, I love Golden Century on Sussex and its partner in Moore Park keeps up the expectations.

Service has been terrible though. Unattentive, rushed, disorganized. Food came before drinks. Plates came out randomly. There was a wedding in the other room and all the attention was on that. People were waiting on the stairs for their turn and staff wouldn't even bother to talk to them to give an estimated time for them to sit.

Won't be back, definitely prefer to dine on Sussex, staff is not warm but always very attentive and timing is perfect.

Totally overrated place. Looks like a big cafeteria and the food is definitely not up to the expectations. Had the pappardelle with duck ragu and porcini, and there wasn't any mushroom in sight, or in taste. Got to say that servings are huge. Desserts were nice but couldn't make up the disappointment of the main. Service is hit and miss, brought the bill and the took it from us because they realized it wasn't the right table. I was expecting a lot from this place and I just walked out utterly disappointed. There are Italian restaurants far better than this.

Following a glowing review by SMH, Tuesday night I decided to head to Cappello.
The place is towards the end of Darling Street (easy to park during a weekday), you have to look out for it as it looks like a tiny boutique and has the same elegance. Borsalino hats on the wall, simple and clean white table cloths, essential yet warm furniture, luminous lighting, and last but not least, a wood-fire oven.

We were welcomed by two waiters, service was impeccable, we had a bottle of sparkling wine and wine glasses were promptly replaced by flutes, cutlery wer replaced after each course, everything was timed well. We went for garlic prawns and calamari as entrees, and a pizza each. We were starving because we all saved our stomach for this new pizza experience.

Servings are not massive, but if you plan to have a pizza and you are not a very big eater they are just right. I loved my Primavera with prosciutto, rocket and parmesan. It was just thick enough, right on mozzarella and tomato, and the topping was fresh and balanced, to die for.

Couldn’t go for the dessert, too stuffed, so we just got a coffee which was good. There’s nothing worse than going for a nice Italian dinner and ending it with a coffee that tastes like strychnine. I had a little chat with the staff, the guys are a delight, and the owner who is also the artist behind this amazing pizza.

I also found out that there is a second floor to Cappello, which I suppose they easily fill up during weekends seeing the nice buzz they have on a Tuesday night. This a little gem in Balmain. It’s a cozy tiny sophisticated restaurant with good food and beautiful service to be shared with the right friends!

$42 all you can eat, pretty good deal for pretty good food. Meat was beautifully cooked and seasoned. The restaurant was full of Brazilians and it was recommended to me by a Brazilian friend, which I think it is a good first step! The place is plain and simple, loud, it's good for a group of friends or for an easy dinner. Service is ok, side dishes came to the table before drinks, but it's a place that is borderline with a buffet, so I didn't mind.
