Other recent reviewers are correct - Sushi Bar Rashai has, unfortunately, gone down hill. I have been a customer since the 1980's, and the food in the past was always excellent. Last night, both my girlfriend and I fell ill during the night.

We ordered a fish teriyaki, and the amount of fish on a mountain of salad was measly for $19.80. In addition, we reckon it was basa, the cheapest imported fish on the market. The miso soup was the worst we have had anywhere. It had the consistency of a heavy sludge, instead of the reasonably clear appearance, and light fresh taste one expects.

Revolver great for breakfasts and the coffee is excellent. Some of the lunches could be more dimensional. I recently ordered a pumpkin and ricotta ravioli and flavour wise, it was exceptional. Only gripe was that was all that was on the plate. A bit of salad as a garnish, maybe some steamed broccoli would have provided a much needed bit of variety in texture and colour.

We went as a table of eight, and we were all highly disappointed and will Never return. The only positive was the waitress who was very good at her job. The food, however, was over priced, one dimensional and really ordinary. Amongst our group was an Italian, who said it was categorically the worst Italian meal she had experienced. Definitely a never to return place.

If the old saying, that the cleanliness of a restaurant kitchen can be judged by the cleanliness of the toilets, the kitchen in this restaurant must be filthy. The toilets were so dirty they were just vile.

The owners do not appear Japanese, which may be the clue. The food is dead ordinary and the ambience overly noisy. The beef in the beef salad was tough and tasteless, the agadashi tofi passable, sashimi serving so-so. When it came to settle the bill, the owner is very pushy and officious, which differs from the attitude of the friendly waiting staff.
