We recently had a function here. We would Never use the Prospero Group again. I think they also own Manta? I have never rated anyone as low as this, so that should tell you how bad our experience was.

Wow! What a great find this place was! We were offered 3 choices of seating, the Teppanyaki table, a lounge or a private booth. We chose the booth. Glad we did. Gave us intimacy to enjoy each others company without being hidden away. Highly recommend the booths!

Then our very pleasant Waitress came. She was very helpful and cheerful throughout the night. We ordered a selection of meals to share starting with Sashimi and a selection of Gyoza. All excellent. Then out came something truly special. The Wasabi Prawns. OMG! Absolutely stunning!

The ambience was nice, considering the location. Nice "chill" music playing at a pleasant volume. We had an excellent night and truly enjoyed every minute. You should try this place!

At 6pm on a Friday night we rang to make a booking here. We were politely told the only available time was 7pm, so we accepted. From the moment we got there we were well and truly rushed! By 7.45 we had eaten our entrees and the mains were on the table!

It was only when we got to 8.30pm that it all made sense. The Restaurant was packed! It turns out that the Manager had gone to quite a bit of trouble to fit us in. We hadn't understood until we saw the queue at the front door.

Overall the food was as good as any Italian we have had. Nice wine list, although the wines were a bit overpriced. The staff were helpful and courteous, but the usual transient Byron Bay hospitality staff. Overall, we would recommend this Restaurant as one of the better places to eat in Byron Bay and in fact, up with the best of them! Overall a great experience.

This place opened with great expectations, we went there last night and well.... Not overly impressed. First we tried to order a bottle of wine off the wine list.

Apologetic Waitress comes back and tells us they have run out of that wine. No big deal, I choose another bottle. 3 minutes later she comes back and says they've run out that too! I look at our most helpful Waitress, with my head cocked to the side, and ask if they have any white wine? She gleefully tells me they have a particular Wine, which I happen to dislike.

I then say, in my most polite tone, 'I don't really like that wine, would you mind if I went to the bottle shop, 50 metres away, and bought my own bottle back?' she goes to ask 'the boss' and informs me there is a $10 corkage! Considering their wine is virtually non-existent, shouldn't they allow me to bring my own wine, with a discount on the corkage?

No big deal, we're here for a holiday so we take it in our stride and drink water.
Food was pretty good. Obviously a lot of thought has gone into the menu with some great dishes which really tempt the taste buds.

Overall, we would go back, but considering how run down the cellar maybe there are financial issues at play?

The food here is great! Pity there's not a full serving per meal. We order from here regularly, being local, but I think tonight will be the last time. The food is great, no complaints. When I order 'fish masala" I'd like to get fish masala. Instead I got a container 75% full of salad and 25% of what I ordered. I feel ripped off and think other people need to know.

If I wanted to beg for my food I would ask the wife! What is it with the staff attitude in this place? Everything is an effort and met with much huffing and puffing. Don't bother guys, since we're putting you out by trying to order a meal, we'll go elsewhere. The committee need to manage these guys.

We tried a few of their cupcakes after a hard days shopping. Pretty good! So we decided to order a "cupcake stack" for my birthday party. When we got home and tried to set it all up, there was a problem. A few bits not quite right. We called the store and told them, they were very apologetic.

Now here's where they go off the scale for customer service. Within 30 minutes one of their employees was in our home with all the bits needed to setup the cupcake stand. She assembled it all beautifully. After she finished, she gives us a box of 6 extra cupcakes as their apology!

How good are these people! Everyone makes mistakes, what's important is how they fix their mistakes. Ghermez excelled themselves and we will use them again for sure. We will also be telling all of our friends what a great store this is!

I suppose you have to eat here at least once in your life. It is a bit of a Sydney institution. Ok, now you've eaten here you can move on! Overall an average menu, or menus, should I say. I'm not quite sure how this place got two hats. Because of the view?

It's pub food! Nothing more, nothing less. I had to rate it a bit higher on "value", because compared to the rest of the Merivale empire it is excellent. Compared to the rest of the market, its about on the money. Beef burger is good, although it does have the makings of "A heart attack on a plate".

Great spot! Great Service! Nice wine list! All good, until the bill comes out, it wasn't worth that much! I think the market is sorting them out. With their "March into Merivale" special and some other special running this month, they must be realising they are out of the market. There is much better food around at much lower prices.
