After 40 minutes of waiting for the food to come out we enquired about it, specifically explaining what time we needed to leave by. The owner said that the restaurant is busy and we have to remember we are a table of 6. He went to find out where the order was at. 10 minutes later came back, said it would come soon. I asked what that meant - 5 mins??? He got annoyed with me waving his hands around saying he didn’t know. Another 10 minutes passed, we paid the drinks bill and left. The owner then said the food was coming and if we left he'd call the police on us (for what???). We didn't get fed (or arrested)... it was an awful experience.

We were a party of six for 2 friends birthdays. In true Merivale style the decor is funky, a little eclectic and full of vibe and you're always noticing something different when you scan the room.

I must say I received the best service in anywhere Ive been in the world, right from the start. The waitress was outstanding and other staff we interacted with were the same. I had a problem with my order (asked for the cream to not be added to the muscles broth and the kitchen didn't see this and added the cream) and the issue was resolved in a manner that surpassed expectations exponentially. The staff even overheard there were birthdays at our table and without prompting the desserts came with candles. Twenty out of Ten for service.

The menu has so much selection and big big big - whole fish, whole pigeon, half a duck so bring your appetite when you go - there's no such thing as morsels here!

In a word – wow. Don’t go once because between the a la carte menu, grazing on anti pastos and pizzas; and going back for whatever you didn’t eat on the previous occasions – Signorelli Gastronomia will give you reason to keep coming back and trying the different offerings will see a different experience each time. Hands down it’s now on my top 5.

On this occasion we went before going to the lyric theatre – the staff were more than accommodating having us arrive at 12:15, were out the door by 1:45 and never felt like we were going to miss the show. Nor did we feel rushed.

We were a party of eleven, half of which were visiting from Paris. Everything was sensational with resulting comments saying it was like being in Paris in Australia. I was lucky enough to try a few things across our shared entrees and cheeky tastings of others dishes. See my blog http://peckish-zrk.blogspot.com.au/2013/03/blog-post.html for pics of these. We were a little surprised that, as the chefs appeared (towards the end), none that we saw were actually French but all in all a terrific restaurant and absolutely we’ll be back.

If you're looking for a casual cafe lunch in the area with easy parking, quick service, great menu variety, quality food and no tidal wave of kids running around - head for Raffi's. We needed a quick lunch so popped in on a Saturday and ordered the chicken schnitzel sandwich and the corn fritters and drinks. We were in and out in under half an hour and the bill was just over $30. Perfect for the purpose!

If the word count was limited to just 5 words I would simply write: you must go to Chiswick. We were a table of 5 who thought we’d put our best negotiation skills to the test to see if we could get the 4 course $75 set menu but the waiter told us we honestly would not get through all the food. We decided we’d get 3 share plates instead but then decided to get some nibbles and aim for room for dessert instead so scaled back to 2 share platers for the main. Thank god we did as the serving sizes are so generous that we didn’t even get through this! But, for 5 girls with healthy appetites our line-up was perfect – and I’d do it again anytime. 10/10 and with wine the bill came to $330 – that’s $66 each and we had a bottle of wine. What more do you want? And – parking is a breeze!

6 of us went for lunch on a Sunday and decided to have the banquet. For the location and quality of food it was very well priced at $56pp for the banquet we selected and *warning warning warning* don't love the dips and starters as much as I did as you won't be able to move come the mains!

It always puzzles me when restaurants decide to be part of a voucher offer (on their own accord, not held at gunpoint) then treat customers like nuisances when they come to dine on the voucher the restaurant willingly agreed to.

They decided to change the entitlements of the voucher on the spot. Very devious.

The good: very generous and tasty entree, great selection of dishes for mains, lots of rice and naan left over.

The bad: Voucher was for a bottle of wine, we were given a glass, I asked for a seafood dish that was mild even saying I don’t mind what it was I’m just really wimpy when it comes to hot dishes but I was given a medium dish that I couldn’t cope with. After the mains we tried to get their attention for one hour to say we’re ready for the dessert we were entitled to but the staff had made themselves unavailable by sitting behind the bar with their heads down so when it hit an hour we just got up and left. Tried to give a wave of thanks but couldn’t even get their attention for that.

The environment caters for families so it's not the place you go to for an 'adult' experience. There were kids running around and quite a few prams. The waitress had trouble with our orders thinking a chicken and avocado melt was a chicken meal therefore a chicken burger arrived (if you found that flow hard to follow, we did too) and my meal had a hair wrapped around a tomato. The cafe staff couldn't care less about the incorrect meal or the hair. They were more than happy to take the $75 for 4 though (that was the most interested they looked during our time there). Won't be back.

We had the $30 set menu. What great, fresh, delicious food for amazing value! The food was timely and the staff were a thorough delight. My only issue was noise travelling and the paranoia that we may not be able to get a table. As there’s no background music my voice seemed to ricochet of everything and echo down the restaurant so I needed to be very self aware all the while I was there and make sure I didn’t do too much exclaiming.

This was enhanced by there only being 2 other tables with diners which segways to my other negative, when you try to call for a booking the phone goes to a weird recording that doesn’t sound like an answering machine?

Click through to my link for full review and pics of everything we ate.
