I am also a regular at Enmore and went to Marrickville to experience the new restaurant.

I agree that even though the menu is simpler at Marrickville it is equally tasty and will certainly go back very soon.

Parking as mentioned by previews reviewer is an extra benefit and also the fact that there is live entertainment provides a great experience and a lovely night out.

Finally the bar provides a vast majority of wines and beers and the young lady behind the bar was very helpful in providing us the wine we wanted.

Would recommend this place to anyone that wants to have a great night and ‘yummy’ food.

We went to this place as our usual restaurant was closed. Good food but we thought it was overpriced for what we got.

Service was good but the ambience was average as the place has too much light and does not do anything for the atmosphere. Where in the usual Mediteranean restaurant you get spoiled with the quantity at this place we thought it was more about the quality. Pricey for an average local resident.

Another great night at Kafenes a few weeks ago. Went with a group of guys and once again had loads of good quality food. This place has real traditional style Greek food, which means big quantity and well cooked food. Prices were good and the fact that the place is BYO was a plus! For about $35-$40 we had a huge dinner that we all loved.

Being an Enmore resident this place is one of favourites and I can't stop talking about it to everyone.

Update 25.10.2010: We revisited Kafenes with my gf and relatives and had a wonderful time. We had the $40 set menu and we were impressed with the quantity and quality of food. Even though a Saturday night and the shop was very busy, the service was exceptional and waitresses were very attentive and friendly. We are surely going to go back again and we would recommend it to everyone. A must visit!

Visited Lowenbrau on a Friday night. I was impressed by the service , the food came out very quick and the waiter was available whenever requested.
I would suggest this to anyone for a fullfilling meal, but maybe a bit price, but in combination with the location, it is all good! Well done!

We went to Gecko on a Friday night. We order garlic bread and haloumi for starters, that was ok but nothing special and had a pizza and pasta for mains. We had the starters and then we had to wait 45 minutes! before the mains came out. We were really disappointed. When mains came out we did not touch the pasta as it was not cooked and pizza was ok but hard to get it wrong with a pizza. We are not going to go back any time soon. We did not think we got value for money.
