Again after reading a rave review on 'Grab Your Fork' and craving Adana we went to try it out. We got two double combo plates. It's two meats, bread, onion and tomato. To be honest, I missed the pickled vegetable many places include or at least offer on the side.

However the chicken was beautiful, the bread generous, but it's nothing you'd go out of your way to eat. Honestly, Top Ryde food court does a plate twice as good that I'd actually bother to go out if my way to get. If a shopping centre rates higher than a dedicated street front... I don't think it flatters you!!

Other people with us ordered a few pied, and they were really the problem. It was a thick slab of very bland bread with the implication of filings rather than fillings. It was bread. I think we could have ordered better with the meat plates, but the pides are really quite sad. For $5.80 it's a lot to pay for plain bread with a suggestion of cheese or mushroom if you can find it!

Read much about the supposed "chewy ice cream" on Grab Your Fork... there is no such thing. The ice cream is ice cream with very little to distinguish it from your supermarket offerings. Maybe it was meant to have a social texture or ingredient... but it's just vanilla and... nothing. Staff were pleasant and the store much cleaner than the apparently comfortable standard in Auburn.

This is The place to get coffee. I'd say in Ermington, but lets face it, it's the place to get coffee over most of the surrounding suburbs too. My partner and I have a mental list of 'good coffee' places tucked away in our minds like safe houses we flee to on bad days. This one, providing the two more senior experienced staff members are on the machine, is the best.

It's not the sort of place you'd think you'd rate just by looking at it, but ignore your preconceptions and get a coffee. The décor doesn't rate a mention and the food isn't imaginative but it's a milkbar not a restaurant. What you will notice is that the food is all very fresh and very well priced. Our staples from this place are coffee and fruit salad. I'm yet to find a fruit salad in any of the surrounding suburbs as fresh and beautiful as the one we get here.

Ermington is a funny little strip of shops, I can't say we'd find much cause to visit there if it wasn't for the coffee, the bakery and woolies in that order.

Have been here twice on visits from interstate. First time round was so great for our mixed group, we came back hoping to reorder the excellent ploughman's board only to find it was no longer on the menu. Decided to stay and try something else, very disappointing.

Advice on the menu of "try a little something to share" should be taken very literally. The food is very very little but sharing the bill might soften the blow. We were not expecting plates heaving with food, but we ordered enough to make a meal for 3 adults based on menu description and price only to find most dishes would be best served as tapas or less. Too expensive for far far too little and the ambience has changed. To be fair the staff were lovely and attentive.

Came for a quick Yum Cha lunch at around 1:30. There were a few tables full but the trolleys were only circulating the same stuff over and over, very literally 2 trolleys doing laps. As a result the food cold. Fairly decent variety considering it seemed to be the tail end bits of what must have been a very early lunch menu.

North Ryde RSL always serves their food hot, Carlingford has very appetising looking food and great variety, Eastwood also has great variety. The only area I'd say this place excels is that the decor is slightly more modern than others but the loud and bland set up of everywhere else never bothered me. I noticed people were ordering items from the kitchen more than I've seen in other places, in our instance we ordered one dish because there wasn't anything new coming around.

Our bill was $50 for 2 people making it slightly more expensive than other places and we ordered one drink (served in the can). I'm willing to accept we caught them on a slow or off day but not really interested in going back to find out.

My partner brought home a chicken laksa, satay chicken and a fried rice. He asked clearly and specifically if the laksa was chicken, with no seafood because I can't eat seafood. They said yes. Turns out, it's actually a collection of meats....including prawns. I've identified very fatty grey beef and chicken and what I hope is tofu. Chicken satay fine as it does not include surprises, but otherwise very bland. Fried rice = yellow rice with some peas and possibly corn in it!?? No flavour.

Seriously seriously disappointing. Food on the tables looked fine, takeaway is at best...alarming.

I love this place and have passed on the details to a number of friends. I'm also willing to stand in the line, which can be out the door some nights during the dinner rush, and in winter that really is testament to the food.

The staff are busy but for people working hard, the service is good and friendly. Eating in means getting lucky and getting a table so mostly takeaway is easier, plus it's not a romantic location. It's a clean neat bare tables and chairs chicken shop.

The aioli/garlic here is the best I've ever had and the baba ganoush has a fantastic smokey flavour. The falafel are always fresh and beautiful and the chicken deserves all the reviews posted below mine and in the SMH review.

Also, I've never been a huge fan of pickle but rolled up with the chicken and garlic it's really worth trying, and I think it's the secret ingredient that makes it all addictive. If you aren't a local, it's worth a trip one night. Just make sure you stop for dessert and coffee afterwards!
