Had to wait two hours for a table during the Queens Birthday long weekend. We sat at one of the side tables: had selection of small tapas and main meals.

Beef cheeks with pedro ximenez was great as usual (it's the cauliflower puree that lifts the dish) as was a fried and crispy chickpea dish and the chorizo. The prawn entree was unexciting.

Prefer Movida Aqui in Bourke Street for the larger selection of choices including paella. As well as the availability of tables.

Lamb ribs in cumin were fatty but very tasty. Sweet pork was nice and respite from the chillies. Lots of tables were eating hot pots with dried chillies or lamb pieces skewered on 'swords'.

Most of the menu comes with a chili rating so be prepared for a chili factor.
Ambience - there is very none! other than the plastic grapevines hanging from the ceiling. Would not like to think what the bathroom is like. Service is haphazard, empty tables took a long time to clear while we were there.

Don't choose the ginger salt and pepper calamari, very fatty and greasy. Burger and steakhouse fries was the better choice. Nice selection of alternative music playing in background. And some unusual beers on tap. BYO newspaper to read while waiting for your meal to arrive.

Had the baba ghanoush with turkish bread for entree. Dip not as smokey as other places. Mixed grill plate was plentiful with chicken, lamb skewer and lamb cutlets. Turkish beer was said to be weak and watery ($7). Service friendly and helpful, though a little slow.

Arrived for a girly lunch. Note that you need to walk about 200m from the carpark through the park to the premises.

View was lovely though you need to make sure you choose a seat which is not in direct sunlight as it can get very hot. Wagyu burger served in brioche for $24 was a bit overpriced, I guess you pay that for the view.

Service was very slow, we needed to go to the bar to ask for the dessert menu and order coffees. Nice reception room next door if you're thinking of having a function in Sydney with a water view.

Went for an impromptu dinner. Very simple furnishings. Otak otak - moist fish with kaffir lime leaves steamed in banana leaves (two pieces). Haianese chicken served with very chili sauce and garlic-flavoured rice. Note that the chicken is served cold. And we overheard that the chicken may be off the menu soon as the cook who makes it is leaving for personal reasons.

Also tried the CKT with seafood, yummy wok breath. And the banana roti - yum.
Food took a bit of time to arrive so be prepared to be patient. Lots of local residents order takeaway for the family so there is a lot of people moving in and out.

Served macarons for Saturday afternoon tea that were stale (i.e. crunchy, not soft). Did not notice this mistake until brought to their attention. Strawberry smoothie, thought it was going to be ice cream with yoghurt and real strawberries. Instead received a glass of milk with supermarket strawberry topping.

Service lack lustre and 'can't be bothered'. I can't explain whether this is a one-off, whether they are confident in them being the only cafe in Concord West or whether prior success is getting to their heads.

Went to Saturday lunch, arrived just before 12 pm. Luckily we said we were there for lunch because the waitperson's attitute towards late-breakfast eaters was poor.

Food is hit and miss. My spaghetti puttanesca was served hot and al dente. Pizza was burnt on the bottom and soggy, inedible. Value not worth the $20 for pizza. Daily menus need to be re-typed and presented a little better.

Went on my own without a booking and was seated at a table positioned between the banquettes 'holes in the wall'. Tried the bigoli (like spaghetti) with duck ragu and a side of braised peas (stufi bisi). Both ok.

Waiter tried to upsell me the Merchant Bellini, which I heard him do with every table. Wait service was slow for a three quarters empty restaurant. I had to go up to the bar and pay my own bill, waiting nearly 20 minutes at your table for your bill is too long.

If this review can prevent you from spending $180 on a substandard meal, then it has done its work. Visited over the Easter long weekend for dinner. Kitchen needs a complete overhaul. Eggplant entree ($20) oily and tomato concasse has bits of tomato skins in it. Rocket and parmesan salad was actually cooked underneath the snapper fillet ($40), rather than left on the side. Fillet mignon ($42) was not fillet and came with wilted silverbeet that still was attached to the hard white stalks.

Desserts were a disaster, strawberry flan ($20) was a supermarket pastry with two halves of a strawberry inside and canned cream swirled on top. Creme brulee was actually like a heavy honey cream with a huge wedge of butterscotch on the top, no crunchy toffee layer. Triple choc gelato tasted like a scoop of Vienetta.

Service tries hard, however, if you are serving wine, then acknowledge when you spill wine all down the sides and bottom of the glass, don't walk away and ignore it, and leave it to the patron to clean it up.
