We had a group of 16 and so had a separate area which was fine. The entree's were quite tasty, however, of the four mains on the set menu, none were a stand out. Some too salty, others bland. Its a shame because I was looking forward to it. The service was average, though it's always difficult with a big group.

Fantastic, expensive food! We had the Chili Crab - this must be pre-ordered. Cost $125 but was delicious and totally worth it between four people. The Hainan chicken was great as well, but needed to be served with much more sauce! Go here for good food when your wallet is full and you will leave happy!

Have been here a few times years ago, and always loved it, however, on this occasion I was sorely disappointed. The Ripples famous 'crisp' fried fish and chips were soggy, undercooked and seriously 'meh.' For $24 I would at least expect crispy fish and chips like the name suggests. A beautiful piece of fish was used, but of the three of us who had this dish at the table, each one was worse than the next. Hopefully they were just having a bad day.

What can I say, my steak was perfect, cooked exactly as I was hoping, bearnaise sauce and asparagus were a great accompaniment. The bread was beautiful and fresh. However, I was here for a christmas party and did not foot the bill. Prices were steep but not outrageous, I suppose you wouldn't go there if you weren't willing to pay the prices. Overall, a really pleasant experience and a memorable meal.

My experience was tainted initially, as I tried to book 3 times over the phone only to be told someone would call me. No one ever called me back, which made me slightly apprehensive about going. When we arrived for the Grange Affair set menu, none of the wait staff knew what it was, until the manager was called over.

This, however, was the only negative part, the rest of the evening was fabulous.
The wait staff were attentive, the meal was delicious, and the manager and sommelier made the night an experience rather than just a meal. Both were very knowledgeable and helpful, food was great, yum.

We had the winter feasts menu, 2 courses plus a glass of wine for $35. The entrees were superb, tuna ceviche and the salmon, so fresh they would melt in your mouth. The wagyu main was good, however, not as good as I would have expected.

Generally, this was a nice meal and the chefs were great, but after having heard so much about this restaurant I must admit I was expecting more in terms of ambience and seating.

From the moment we made the last minute booking to the moment we left the restaurant it was a lovely experience. Wait staff were helpful, pleasant and not over bearing. The food was fabulous and a nice twist on 'regular' japanese, with the specialty being food on skewers. I really enjoyed myself here.

Lovely atmosphere, mostly pleasant staff. Delicious salmon starter. Could do with some more mains i.e. more dishes. I liked the lighting, not too dark that you can't see your food but nice and subtle. Interesting wine list (obviously a high price tag accompanying international wines). I will be back for more!

Have been here numerous times and have always enjoyed it, however, my most recent visit was quite disappointing, and I don't think I will be back. The food was OK, average, really as you would expect more given the price. The oysters in sake were unpleasant. Salmon sashimi was beautiful and fresh. Service was lacking, and our order was taken by a waitress holding another tables dirty plates. I wouldn't mind at a cheaper restaurant, but here it was pretty lame. Unfortunately, I won't be going back.

Lovely, friendly staff and service. Most of the dishes were great, loved the simplicity of the green beans and the combination of lamb and pear was delicious, though I thought the baby octopus was a bit too salty. Generally a great night, I think the prices were a bit high.
