I've eaten here now three times for lunch and twice for dinner, and I'll never have dinner here again. It's so loud. Too loud. Both times I had dinner here I went home almost hoarse, you would expect when the tables are small and intimate you wouldn't have to yell to have a dinner conversation. Wrong. Having said that, though, the food is delicious and it's a far more pleasant experience at lunchtime.
The service is a completely mixed bag, sometimes fun and attentive, other times rude and forgetful. Again, I found the service at lunch far superior to dinner. I didn't get to order dessert one evening because the waiters didn't ever arrive to take the order even though I had been delivered the menu with a smile, my waiter just kept briskly walking past us ignoring my waving of said dessert menu!
The other thing that was a little off-putting was the request to leave our table by a certain time. Nothing had been mentioned when I booked, and had I known I had under 2 hours for a lovely catch-up dinner with friends I would have booked somewhere else.
So, food. Food is seriously yum, my favourites are The Reuben, and of course the steak and chips (the fries are divine), and The Lemon Delicious pudding is just that...Delicious!
I will go back again, it's a great lunch spot, delicious, cosy, and elegant, but, unfortunately, dinner is out.

Hubby and I just got back after dinner with friends. I still have the divine taste of the burnt palm sugar syrup from the Sago dessert in my mouth...mmm...Yum!
The Chilli Prawns were delish, the Beeg Rendang was a big hit with my hubby who is a Beef Rendang Nut - the special rice cooked in chicken stock and lots of garlic could be eaten on its own it's so good. The spicey green beans and Hunan Chicken rounded us out for dinner - and with BYO we walked away at $70 per couple. That's amazing value.
It is a bit noisy, and the tables are very close - but for the food and the value, it's a big thumbs up from me. We're planning to head back again some time over the next few weeks to try more of the fab sounding dishes.

I went back to Extra Virgin last night for the second time, to eat their churros, oh my goodness, they are to die for, I mean who uses saffron sugar? I Love it. Last time I was there we sampled some tapas which were amazing, then followed with the aforementioned churros, we liked them so much we ordered another serving.
Last night we rocked up around 9.30 pm just for dessert, devoured two plates of churros then tried their Dulche de Leche...MMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMM...a HUGE tick from me! The service is fab, Mauricio remembered me from my first visit a few weeks ago, which was very impressive, it's so great to meet someone really passionate (and unpretentious) about their food. I'm so so so happy this is now my local fave, it actually feels like a local place with the bonus of fresh, tasty, magical food.
PS. Although both churros visits were divine, I did prefer the thicker churros on my first visit, than the new "slimmer" models of last night.

We wanted a quick delicious dinner on a Thursday night, the sausage pizza was Yum, I love a really thin base, which it was, and had it been a little crispier and a little hotter (temp wise) it could have been a 9, but it was really really good. The rocket and parmesan salad was delicious. Great value really, sharing a large pizza, a wonderful salad, one water and one glass of red in a cool yet intimate atmosphere, all for under $40. I'll definitely be back to try some of the other pizzas, busting to try the potato and rosemary!
