A friend and I went to dinner last night to Inside Out. Upon entering, I thought it was set out nicely.
We ordered traditional meatballs, potato croquetes, soft shell crab salad for starters. For mains, we got the barramundi and grain sirloin fillet with king prawns.
The meatballs was ok, could do with a bit more spice and flavouring, the potato croquette was nice but could do with garlic in the garlic sauce. Love the crab salad! This was fantastic.
As for the barramundi, we thought this was nice. The sirloin had a different flavouring to the standard salt and pepper flavouring. Interesting but nice, however, the sirloin was chewy. The king prawns that came with the steak was fantastic.
We also had sticky date pudding and creme brulee for dessert. The sticky date pudding was soft and had a bit of a kick to it with the cinnamon in it, however, the creme brulee was slightly disappointing as it was slightly burnt.
Overall I would say its not too bad, however, the service from the waiter towards the end was appalling. I booked Inside Out through eatability (dimmi) which also offered a 20% off the total bill deal, so I took it up.
When we received our bill last night, the 20% off bill wasn't applied so we queried the waiter about it. What we got from the waiter was a rebuttal saying we should have told them about the deal when we first walked in, and he argued with us when we told him we didn't know and assumed they would know especially when Inside Out did get our booking through dimmi. He gave us the impression that he would not apply the 20% off deal for us.
We just don't understand how they could have receive our booking on dimmi, yet did not notice that we have taken up the 20% off deal offered through dimmi as well? His attitude was unnecessary, and ruined our evening.

We had the mid week special $28 for 3 courses. We ordered the salt and pepper squid, cherry tomato and ricotta bruschetta for entree, angus rumps for mains, fruit salad and creme brulee for desserts.
We really enjoyed the salt and pepper squid. It was really fresh (not chewy) and tasty. However the bruschetta was ok. It was quite plain, and we'd rather much prefer the traditional bruschetta (but we generally prefer flavoursome dishes).
Both the rumps were ordered to be medium cooked. One came out quite well done which didnt make it as enjoyable as it was dry on the outer edges. The other steak came out perfectly cooked and definitely much more tender.
The desserts were definitely a hit with us! Creme brulee and fruit salads were both what we expected, although quite a large serving and very filling. The service was fantastic, and attentive. They were really welcoming and friendly.
All in all, its definitely good value. I'd definitely like to come back here and try other dishes.

Exceptional service. Quick, friendly and attentive. Food comes out quickly and taste fantastic and flavorsome! Love the decor and the atmosphere of this restaurant. Definitely one of the finer Thai restaurants in the area.

Came here for a friends birthday and wasn't very happy with the experience.
We had a table for 10 already seated. Additional 2 people came in and when we asked if we can get extra seats or the empty table next to us to be joined to the current tables, we were rudely told by the senior staff (who also raised her voice) 'you guys only told me table for 10' and refused to help or accommodate us. We had to locate seats ourselves and squeezed into the table.
This was the same person who also worked somewhere else previously, who responded us with 'Do I look like I have enough hands?' when we asked for service. My guess is that either she deal poorly with her own stress, or customer service is not her top priority compared to the drinks and shakes she have to make at the counter.
At other restaurants, should we were to bring a birthday cake in and ask the staff to bring it out during our dinner, they would have taken the cake out of the box and light up the candles. Here? Unfortunately, no. They brought the whole box out with the candles in still in the packet. We had to ask for the cake to be sent back (before the surprise gets ruined for the birthday friend which it did anyway), and actually go behind their counter and organise it ourselves.
Saying that, the flavour of the food is nice, however, we can taste a lot of MSG. It made us really thirsty.
I definitely wouldn't come back here again, even though the decor is nice and the foods decent, but the poor customer service shows they're not focused on their customers. There are plenty of other Thai and Laos restaurants five minutes away from this restaurant which have better food and better customer service.
