Bravo! The most authentic pizza I have had outside Naples. The place is a bit noisy, but the food and service more than makes up for it. I can highly recommend the house apetizer (antipasto della Casa) served with fresh baked bread sticks and an assortment of delicious deli items, and fresh mozzarella. Both their regular and blanco (no sauce) pizza's are absolutely top notch. This is a must visit place for Pizza Snobs, returned travelers, and Italian lovers. Pizzas range from $18 - $26, full menu is available online.

Restaurants, Bars, Pizza

The place has a great atmosphere, but is unfortunately majorly let down by the Pizza. Normally a wood fired oven means you are going to get a superior product, but the dough is under hydrated and not hand tossed. This leads to a flat dry and tasteless base that has no 'cornicione' (crust), and does not resemble a V.P.N pizza in anyway. They also use flour on the peels and for shaping instead of semolina, which leads to large baked on chunks of flour on the bottom of the crust that need to be chipped off with a fork before eating. Very disappointing.

The toppings were quite nice, but unfortunately the bases are such a massive let down it makes it very hard to enjoy any of them. Anyone can have good toppings. The crust is where the battle for good pizza is one and lost. The atmosphere of the place is fantastic, the bar is great and the courtyard looks fantastic, especially at night. This place could easily achieve 5 starts if they got a certified Pizzaiola to train up their staff, and followed the V.P.N guidelines. Pizza aficionados - best give this one a miss.

I got takeaway from here almost every Friday night for a year, but sadly will not be going back now. The shop has changed hands and is no longer as good as it used to be. The new operators have swapped out ingredients and menu items in favor of higher profit margins.

For example the awesome cabbage salad you used to get in a Bento box is now just some rocket with a 1/4 tomato on top. The Sushi is also nowhere near as good as it used to be. Really disappointing, used to loved this place.
