A very pleasant way to have Sunday lunch, great view as don't have to look across the road to the beach with good food and service!

A disappointing experience. Went on a Saturday night, when hotel is very busy so understand that even in the Bistro it was going to be noisy.
Meal started well with tapas as entree, especially liked the soft shell crab and the prawn dumplings. Pork belly was tender, but crackling was chewy.
Mains were the main cause for disappointment, with us having to send back sirloin steak (at around $35) being chewy, tough and overcooked. Salmon was also slightly overcooked.
Service was hit and miss. Staff friendly but frantic and disorganised, we had 2 lots of incorrect entrees attempted to be served to us. Staff handled us sending back the steak in a good manner, and provided a round of drinks as apologies.

Went to Nick's restaurant with some apprehension, given some recent reviews here. Took note of the general theme, and avoided the seafood platter (although the platters we saw looked reasonably plentiful).
Two of us had entrees, mains and 2 drinks each for $140, which given the location seemed reasonable value. My partner had the seafood chowder for entree - his advice "make sure you are hungry if you order that for entree", he wasn't able to finish his main. Service was prompt and efficient.

Dined at Seven Sins on a Friday night. Made an online reservation and received 3 confirmations (email, text, text confirmation). A hint for anyone intending on dining there - call to make a reservation and check that no function booked in. We were one of 4 tables in the dining area, but there was an engagement party in the bar area and there are no walls between those areas so we got to hear the speeches, etc.
Food was good and well presented, but expensive for the atmosphere (for mains of $35-40, expect that there will be tablecloths, slightly worn used plastic top tables). View is good, looking out over Iron Cove. Main disappointment was the service. Only 2 other tables in the restaurant, 3 wait staff plus manager, and we had trouble getting people's attention.
For example, when we wanted the bill, 3 wait staff came out and served dessert to table of 8 next to us, and then all walked off without one person looking around to see that we were frantically trying to flag down someone's attention. It was a theme throughout the night - no sense of looking around to see what was happening, and who needed attention, empty plates taken away, etc.

Was invited to Intermezzo for lunch, and having read the reviews here and the general feedback about very poor service, was approaching it with interest. However, found the service very good, prompt, smooth and the waiter was joking with the table (but not in an over familiar way). Had the snapper, which I enjoyed. It is not a cheap place - eg, wine by the glass starts at $12, with many above $15 (so I was lucky to be someone's guest!).

Have been to Little Darling Diner for both lunch and dinner, and really like the style/look of the restaurant, some French touches, but not over the top. Have generally enjoyed the food, although takes a few minutes to get used to the dinner menu not clearly differentiating between entrees and main courses. However, was disappointed in the herb chicken balls had last time, turned out to be 4 large patties, taste was fine, but very dense and heavy. That said, have had enough favourable visits to go back again.

Would recommend this as a good place for a quick meal after work. Tried the prawn risotto (and appreciate being told when ordering that it would be cooked al dente) and the barramundi, both good.
Value was reasonable, allowing for the location being in The Rocks where restaurant meals are not cheap, and service was smooth but nothing out of the ordinary.

Go for the view! Great to be sitting on a summer's night overlooking the Harbour from a different angle.
Food was very good, we had the Whole Snapper special and Mulloway fish fillets, both were very good. It is a bit pricey, for 2 main courses, 1 dessert, and some drinks, the total came to $132.
Service was reasonable, very smooth at the start of the evening, but found a little more difficult to get attention to get the bill at the end of the night.

Been back to Bistro Bruno twice this month, really good to see that they have kept true to the former owners/chefs with reasonable value for the high standard of the food. Particularly worthy of mention is the Pork Belly entree and Mulloway main course, but no disappointments in the food. BYO is still possible, although $10 corkage, the wine list is reasonably priced if don't BYO.
Service is unobtrusive and professional. For a cozy dinner for two, recommend asking for a table in the front room downstairs, but for a group ask for a table in the atrium (where you also get to see some of the action in the kitchen).
Response from Management:
Hi Millie99,
Thanks for taking the time to write about Bistro Bruno on this site. I'm pleased you have enjoyed all your visits recently.
Next time you're in why not introduce yourself (or if we've spoken reveal yourself).
Until then,
Erez

Called in for lunch on New Year's Day in the front bar, was early in the afternoon, so atmosphere was understandably quiet post NYE. Ordering is at the bar, and service was fairly quick. We ordered the Spaghetti Marinara and the Prawn Risotto, great value for $22 each, as both well cooked and included plenty of seafood. After avoiding the MB for a couple of years after some disappointing experiences, we will now happily go back.
