We were squeezed in at the end of a busy saturday night trade by the welcoming and friendly Wolfgang. Be sure to book in advance to avoid potential disappointment.

The meals were very generous in proportions so be sure to visit with an empty belly! The steak weighed 350 grams and the pork knuckle probably at least double (if you include the bone).

My husband is German and we have both lived there and Wolfgang's was typical hearty German fair. We both liked the slight Swiss twist to some of the dishes, such as the rosti bases to a lot of the mains. A great place for winter!

The food was excellent, very authentic Italian. For starters we had prosciutto, bread and olive oil dip. The oil was fruity but not too overbearing. A nice start. For mains I had the burnt sage butter tortellini, heavy yet good. My husband had a seafood gnocchi plate which he liked but said didn't overly wow him. We shared a dessert, which was light and a good end to the meal.

I'd be back again for special nights. Locanda is a bit more pricey than your average meal out but, thankfully, that price tag in this case means you also get better quality food and service.

Went here for breakfast on a weekend. It was really crowded but we managed to nab a table for three out back and squeeze four people around it.

We soon found out why it was so popular, the food is lovely. I had the french toast with lemon and pistachio cream cheese. It could have been a little less fried for my taste but overall it was a good mix of flavours and the fruit in between the toast was fresh.

Everyone else on the table had eggs benedict, which came served on a bagel. They were all very happy with the portion and taste. Two people on the table were regulars and admitted they'd ordered the eggs benedict on their first visit and had never quite managed to try anything else on the menu because it is so delicious.

I went here on their monday pizza happy hour (5-7 pm) and enjoyed a yummy pizza for $5 overlooking the beach while the sun went down. Can't complain with the value or quality at that price. Although I would have been slightly disappointed with serving size at the full normal price ($18-20) but I guess you're paying a little for the location.

Our table also ordered a pitcher of sangria and a pitcher of zombie cocktail, which were both fairly priced for the amount we received. Cheaper than buying individual cocktails. In sum, a great place to go, particularly if you do your homework first and find out when their specials are on.

I went to Veludos twice recently once for dinner and once for cocktails. The dinner was absolutely awesome, I had chicken with a polenta base and beans. It was a simple mix of flavours very well done. Everyone else was impressed at the table too with their orders and the proportion of serve.

I was feeling adventurous afterwards and had the turkish delight ice-cream, which was a revelation. Truly the best ice-cream I've had in a very long time. Lovely subtle flavours chopped through with bits of dark chocolate. Yum! I went back again for cocktails only. They were good but I found them a bit pricey given that they were all pretty much the same price regardless of whether you had a martini glass or a hurricane glass.

And the service was a bit funny for a place that prides itself on an extensive cocktail menu. We had to spell out Capirinha to the waiter because he'd never heard of it before. Stick to the food, it's a great night out and you can't go wrong.

I read the mixed reviews here and thought I'd give Ostratos the benefit of the doubt. Bad choice. I now know why the reviews are so mixed here, the dishes wildly vary. My husband chose fish of the day, which was fresh although the side of chips were awful. On the other hand, I went with the mixed seafood plate. When it came out, it was all deep-fried bits of calamari, prawn cutlets and dry mystery fish on a bed of awful chips with a side of soggy salad. The dish was so far removed from anything greek that even the salad didn't have feta in it. It must have felt ashamed and left the plate before serving.

I complained that the menu did not mention it was all deep-fried and I ate hardly any of it. The waitress offered me a free coffee, which was nice but grossly inadequate. I was rather annoyed at having to part with $21 for a fish basket I could have bought for half the price at a fish and chip shop.

I've eaten at Turkish Delight many times and I must say that the best value and experience is in the banquet. The trick is getting three other people to agree to it! The service can be a little lacking sometimes given that it is family-run but always well intentioned. The last time I was there, a friend brought her year-old baby along and the waitress brought out a couple of bits of Turkish bread for the baby to chew on. It's these little touches that keep me coming back, along with the simple home-cooked Turkish fare.

I agree with the other review, the service is terrible at Waggis in Canberra. I went there last night and had exactly the same experience, we were made to wait awkwardly in the front entrance for ten minutes while in full view there were free spaces everywhere on the benches. When we were finally seated, I tried three times to wave and grab the attention of a waiter. It was only on my fourth attempt, when I stuck my hand directly in their path, that someone was forced to pay attention.

The only redeeming feature is the food. You shouldn't go there expecting a relaxed atmospheric evening, otherwise, you'll be bitterly disappointed. Wagamama is set up for quick in and out healthy fast food before a night out at the movies or in town. If only the wait staff could facilitate that better by actually serving the customers rather than ignoring them.

If you go to this restaurant in winter, then be sure to wear two layers of socks and your thickest jacket. I went there with a group booking last winter and it was freezing, even by Canberra standards. The wait staff were asked by numerous tables to turn up the heating but it didn't make a difference. A number of tables sitting near the windows were moved closer to the inside walls. The tables were wobbly and the chairs uncomfortable. I honestly can't remember much about the food because the ambience was so awful.

We went there on a saturday night with a booked table for ten people. My husband had to sit at the end of the table, which was squished up against the payment counter and the seat was placed at and awkward position. The food was ok but nothing extraordinary for thai. Although I must say that my anticipation was quite high since I had heard a few people rave about it. I might give it another go but, perhaps, on a quieter night of the week.
