I think of the Bellevue as a bit of a Sydney institution. I was a regular back in the days when the bangers and mash were <$15 but obviously it has been years.
The Bellevue was as I remember, high end good quality pub grub. I ordered the pork belly special, a healthy size serving with good crispy crackling! The apple crumble was just as my mum makes so I was not disappointed.

The staff are efficient, and the dining room is clean and fresh, like a bistro. It is relaxed, and despite the white table clothes, not stiff and stuffy. A good option for a meal if you are going to have those moments of silence as there is plenty going on around you.

After reading the reviews on eatability headed to New Kum Den on a Friday for yum cha which was my first mistake. Yum Chan during week has a limited menu and is made to order so not the authentic real yum cha experience.

Considering most of the order was steamed dumplings, it took a long time to arrive. The wontons itself were quite thick but they generally tasty. The salt and pepper squid was a little chewy and oily.

Zero ambience esp on a Friday. Bathrooms didn't rate too highly on the hygiene scale. Certainly not the best yum cha I have had and would try another restaurant in Chinatown before returning here.

I have been hanging out to eat at MoVida after receiving the cookbook for Xmas two years ago and finally the moment presented itself. The booking was for 6 pm on a Friday and when I arrived the place was already buzzing.

Our waitress was fantastic. We were guided by her suggestions both wine and the food for dishes and quantity. We were in good hands. Of the tapas we savioured the anchovy on Crouton with Smoked Tomato Sorbet, Roast Lamb Cutlet, Air Cured Tuna Loin and fried silky Croquette. All great but the anchovy tapas was the highlight and I would go back just for more of these crusty croutons.

For the shared plates we tried the air dried Wagyu with Poached Egg and Truffle Foam which was a little different and Braised Beef Cheek on Cauliflower Puree which was amazingly tender. For dessert we shared the chocolate genache (how can you go wrong) and the sheepsmilk cheesegate.

The flavours were interesting and the food not too fussy. Great atmosphere, fun, vibrant and relaxed. Would highly recommend MoVida. Worth the wait.

The booking experience wasn't great so I had low expectations for dinner at Seans, however, we had a great night. It is wholesome hearty goodness that comes in generous portions with a level of sophistication that comes with a two hat restaurant. All courses were as good as the next and our party of 8 all enjoyed their meals.

The room is cosy and intimate without feeling cramped. The staff are attentive but arrogant. Because the food is so fantastic they almost get away with it, almost.

A truly local authentic japanese restaurant. We ordered the sashami, eel inagi, prawn gyoza and chicken teriyaki. Food is fresh and tasty but teriyaki chicken was a little oily and sweet. Service is very friendly. Eaten here many times and it is consistently good.

Loved it, loved it, loved it! Our meal included the Tingling prawns, lamb and fennel dumplings, stir fried lobster with 3 chillies, steamed lobster with chilli and black bean, wagyu beef and numbing chicken. Food was incredibly fresh and tasty which lingered with every mouthful. Steamed lobster was the better of the lobster dishes, as the fried one was dry in comparison. Highlights for me were the numbing chicken and tingling prawns. Great ambience, attentive staff. Definitely going back. Salivating at the thought.

I have now frequented this cafe a few times now and it is always the same, consistently good food (lamb greek salad a favourite), great gelato, Average (even bad?) service and coffee. At least they have got half the ingredients right.

A friend has been raving about this place for months and it delivered! We arrived at 9 pm and were seated shortly afterwards. The place was busy, but intimate. The fit out is great creating a melbouresque bar that Sydney has been begging for.
For entrée we shared raw tuna crostini and for main ordered Suzuki mulloway and beef tenderloin, all surprisingly good.

The food was simple yet nourishing, a prefect blend of sophistication and home cooking. The staff are unpretentious and relaxed. The wine by the glass is limited but overall I am excited about having Bootleg Bar in the neighbourhood.

We stopped by here for a well earned afternoon tea after a long day walking. We sampled the mate lattes, nachos, apple and macadamia crumble and vegan balls. Food was fresh, very tasty and served by bright eyed and friendly staff. We left with a few loaves of bread and some mate tea. There is nothing common about this cafe so if you are into healthy wholesome food this cafe is worth a visit.
