Food - Food-wise, one of the best Lebanese joints I've ever been to. Everything tastes good. Everything.

Ambience - The only let-down, really. They could do something to make the place a little more appealing. Also, if you're a guy, go to the toilet Before you go here. It smells like an outhouse. I couldn't even go the first time, I ducked straight back out. Gave it a 2nd crack (pardon the pun) one time, and it wasn't much better. 2 trips, no results.

Service - Always nice, informative, helpful. The food comes out so quick it's like they were already guessing what you'd order.

Value - Great. Always generous portions, and well-priced.

Recommendation - 7.5/10 - A must try if you like Middle-Eastern/Lebanese food.

Food - Not bad. I only ever go there very infrequently when I feel like the Mezze platter. Yes, I smash it. Everything else I've tried is pretty average.

Ambience - Cramped, loud, and uninspiring. Book a booth. Needs a little make-over.

Service - Above average. You're never hassled, and everything always comes in good time.

Value - Not the greatest for what you receive, but you'll live.

Recommendation - 6.3/10 - If you're not in the area, then don't bother too much. It's okay, but then again, Brighton has gone downhill as a whole in the past 10 years.

Food - Always fresh and tasty. I don't think I've ever had something that tasted bad.

Ambience - Nice place, and has a real national feel about it. Photos around, table settings, etc.

Service - Always prompt and polite.

Value - Generous servings at a good price.

Recommendation - 7.8/10 - Book a table for peak hours through Thu-Sat. Can get quite busy. Nice place, and a must try if you're in to your Portuguese.

Food - Everything is good, so don't be shy to give something a crack.

Ambience - Just your general Portuguese charcoal chicken shop. Nothing more, nothing less. Has a little more seating than other establishments, though.

Service - Always polite, and sometimes funny to watch.

Value - You pay for a lot less than what you eat.

Recommendation - 7.8/10 - One of my top 3 places to get Portuguese chicken, burgers, etc. If you're in the vicinity, then you must visit here. Eat in or take away, it's all good.

Food: Fairly good. Scallops were fresh, and the sauces were *mwa* Bellissimo. The Hiramasa was great, although the asparagus with it left a little to be desired. Side of chips weren't the best.

Ambience: I like the set out. Looks casual yet a cut above. Did become a little loud at peak, but nothing I couldn't bear. Lighting, good.

Service: One of the waitresses there was perfect. Couldn't ask for better. It was when another one became involved with our table that things became a little complicated. She also had trouble putting through payment (overcharged) and just looked like a bit of a scatterbrain. Waitresses/waiters should have their own tables to look after, in my opinion.

Value: The scallops were tiny, and the Hiramasa was dusted in all of a few minutes. $20 and $34 respectively was way too much to ask for what I received.

Recommendation - 7.3/10 - I have no doubt that the higher scores given by others here are justified, it's just that my experience was just a little above average. Still one of the better establishments in the Shire. Book a table.

Restaurants, Italian, BYO, Citibank Dining Program, Has Bar

8.3 Highly Recommended

First off, I love the phone hello - "La Pesa, buongiorno!"... It really makes you feel like you're going to an Italian restaurant.

Food was fantastic. Loved every bit of it. Ambience is quite nice. Nothing extravagant, but just right. Service was very friendly, prompt, and professional. Can't ask for much better. Bit expensive, but it was expected.

Recommendation - 8.3/10 - Locals should definitely give this place a shot as it's a little gem. Great place to go with a few friends or family members if you like a relaxed and Italian feel.

Food - Love it. From the chickens, to chips, to burgers, to anything else really. Always very good, without being absolutely fantastic.

Ambience - Look, it's a local Portuguese shop, so you can't knock it too much. Few tables inside, few tables outside, counter along the side. Standard.

Service - Always nice and prompt, but as I understand it, they've had a change of management recently. Will be interesting to see when I head back next.

Value - It almost feels like they're paying me to eat there.

Recommendation - 7.8/10 - Great local joint for me which I'd go to maybe once every few months for a Thursday or Friday arvo feed. Food is always very good, and you'll leave there a satisfied little chickie.

Food  8      Ambience  2      Service  9      Value  8

Food - Always nice and fresh.
Ambience - Wow, just wow. It's like the ending of a D-grade movie...you just have to see it. I'm not giving anything away. Trust me, go take-away if you care about your surroundings.
Service - Lovely people. I would hug them if I wasn't busy sniffing the food from the kitchen. Take-away generally takes approx. 10 minutes.
Value - Well priced, for sure. You get a good amount for your spend.

Recommendation - 6.8/10 - I feel bad for this score, because it's really only the ambience aspect that drags it down. Great local take-away joint for me, and my numero uno preference for Chinese food.

It was good when it opened up. Since then? Forget it.

Food - Very hit and miss.
Ambience - Looks nice inside, although can get pretty loud considering the closeness of the tables. Tables and chairs could be changed.
Service - Yeah, forget it. Have been very rude in the past, and I'm not the only one in my circle who has commented on it. It's like they have an "us against the world" mentality. Have received a hair salad twice in my 4 times being there.
Value - Portions are generally well-sized, and the price is mostly justified.

Recommendation - 5.3/10 - Probably a place that'd be good to try if you live locally. Don't bother travelling more than 10mins to go there, though. It just won't be worth it.

Get take-away here and there from U Know when I have the munchies.

The food is basically what you pay for. Not fantastic, but not so bad that you wouldn't go back. Ambience is very uninspiring. It basically pushes you towards take-away orders. Since it's only tiny, I guess that's a given, although they could do something with what they have. It just looks a bit dodge when you walk in. Service is always good. Staff are always polite, and your take-away order is always ready within 10 minutes. Value? It's cheap. Portions are decently-sized, so value gets a good score.

Recommendation - 6.5/10 - Just your basic Thai take-away, really. If you live in the area, it's worth a shot. Cheap meals and friendly service will probably get you going back when there aren't many other alternatives.
