I visited this pub during the day late last year (2007) and experienced the rudest service ever. The bar staff would be engaged in conversation with each other and not show any manners at all ie no please, thank you or even eye contact. Plonking the change on the counter seem to be the done thing here too. Waiting for a tip perhaps? please!

I can understand the concept of leaving this pub "old school" but it's just dirty and needs a good clean up. But more importantly the staff need to be taught some basic manners/customer service skills.

There's not much of an atmosphere at this pub, as it's fairly quite most nights unless there's a function on. The local crowd can be a bit rough and loud, but generally harmless. I've eaten most items on the menu, the T Bone being a favourite. The food is well priced and of an acceptable quality for pub grub. The owner is often on the premises making friendly chit chat with customers, which is nice. The staff are polite, but not overly friendly.

I've eaten here regularly over the last 5 years. The restaurant fixtures are basic and tired, however, the food and service are always of a high standard and value for money. The staff are attentive and always smiling even when it's busy on Saturday night.

I dined here for lunch. The restaurant looks fantastic, it's located well and the service was quite good. However, I found the food to be average and over priced.

I have eaten at this restaurant 20 plus times in the last 5 years. It’s my favourite place to eat on the Gold Coast as the ambience, food and service is outstanding. The meals are well priced and are always of the highest standard. The atmosphere, especially sitting outside, is great. And the wait staff make you feel welcome and attended too, without being over bearing.

Once upon a time the service and value for money at this establishment was great, however, in recent times I have noticed the prices go up, while the food quality and service has gone down. The fish doesn't taste as fresh as it once did and the last 2 times I've eaten here I've found the staff to be short, both times forgetting part of my order without offering an apology. We won't be going back.
