Based on the Noodle House in another area of Canberra, the Asian Noodle House offers a similar menu. The service is prompt, friendly and always attentive. The laksa is wonderful, full flavoured, filling and offered in two sizes and always makes me look forward to my next visit. Other meals that my family have eaten here have always been fresh, well sized and valued, and full of flavour.
I would recommend this restaurant for lunch or dinner, families or couples or groups, as it has never failed to deliver on any aspect.

The quirky decoration was different and promised a relaxed atmosphere, however, that was not the case. The atmosphere was strained thanks to the rude and unfriendly wait staff. We had a booking for our significantly sized group, however, were told on arrival that we were under an hour time limit (This was not mentioned when we booked weeks in advance).

The food was prompt to arrive and portion size was decent, however, it lacked seasoning. The crockery was chipped badly. The coffee was luke warm and so milky that you could not taste the actual coffee. What was meant to be a lovely farewell was totally ruined by hostile staff and a rushed meal. I can not think of one thing good enough about our experience at this cafe that would redeem it enough to recommend it to anyone.

This busy restaurant has full tables for lunch and dinner usually, and with good reason. While we go in with the intention of ordering something different we usually don't. The Laksa is fantastically good, very filling and amazingly fresh usually. The service is fast and unobstructive, but not particularly cheerful or friendly. Well worth the visit for a fast lunch that is going to satisfy on many levels.

We recently decided to go to the Dumpling House specifically for steamed dumplings. The menu while varied overall, was very disappointing with regard to this. We didn't end up ordering anything in the way of dumplings, and instead ordered a well known mongolian lamb and fried rice. The mongolian lamb was an amazing surprise. It was very tender and tasteful. The fried rice was what you would expect from a good asian resturant. The waiter was friendly and the service prompt. We will likely go back again, but not in a hurry.

Walking into the historical Australian Colonial building that houses the Lanyon Cafe you can’t help but feel that you have entered a cafe that has a special something to offer. We elected to sit outside, and the views of the beautiful Brindabella ranges this gave us were amazing. The wait staff was prompt and friendly, happy to answer any questions about the many varied menu items.

The menu was a real delight. The mixture of Modern Australian Colonial Cuisine combined with every day favourites like pasta was mouth watering. My partner ordered the Grazing Plate, a beautifully presented dish of pickled pork and corned beef, cheese, chutney, vegetables and homemade damper, while I had the homemade ravioli with a delicious wattle seed butter sauce.

The coffee was flavoursome and I only wish I had the room left to eat one of the amazing sounding cakes that the waitress tells us are all made on the premises. This cafe offers amazing surroundings, mouth watering food, friendly fast service and great value for money. We are already looking forward to visiting again and seeing what else we can sample!
