As someone who is familiar with Chinese cuisine, Prince Palace is just disappointing. I can't understand why there are so many people dining there! I tried lunch and dinner, both were bad, especially the dinner. The flavouring is just chicken stock (msg) and salt, the dishes are made cheaply, and it feels as if everything was cooked by someone who has never cooked before.

Lunch (dim sums) lacked refined flavour too, and the pastry (both the yellow type and clear type) covering the dim sums were so thick that I felt like I was eating 80% skin and 20% filling. I have to say, this is one of the worst Chinese restaurants in Canberra.

After the makeover of the restaurant, it looks more high-class but the service remains poor. The food quality depends on what you order. The beef pho is ok, but other dishes are often disappointing. Apart from the pho, I think their best dishes are the fried spring rolls and grilled pork.
