This place was cute but not really worth the hype. Firstly the cider we bought was $10 each, pretty pricey.

Secondly, we got there early to secure a table which had empty seats on it but when our friends turned up they made them wait in this ridiculous line out the front and said it could be an hour wait. Obviously we just left. The bar wasn't even busy. I won't be going back just based on that. When did Surry Hills come to the CBD, honestly?

The food is excellent at Papaya and the atmosphere is ok but the service is terrible. I hate the way they really try and squeeze you into tight spaces and then rush you out.

Thai Face is a bit pricier than other Thai placecs but the food is really good. Great atmosphere too.

The food at Phuong is amazing and so cheap. They haven't changed their prices in the 7 years I've been going there. Always friendly and great atmosphere. Vietnamese with some Thai options. Not as many vegetarian options as I would like but it's still great food! Outside seating is better as inside tends to be hot and noisy.

The food at Mustang is divine. The dishes are full flavoured but very natural. The service is great and they are very good with dietary restrictions. I highly recommend this restaurant but it's wise to book as they are busy every night of the week.

Their pizzas are great. They have gluten free bases too which is good but they charge a bit extra for them. I had a pizza with no dairy and it was divine. The vegetarian options are very good and they have many Australian beers to choose from. Service wanes a bit because they hire backpackers.

The food was good, although they only had one vegetarian option available. They were quite abrupt and clearly wanted to get you in and out as fast as possible. The tables were all very close together.

One waiter spilt a guest's dinner on him and them argued with him about it. The owner came out and offered to pay for his dry cleaning but doesn't really cover the insult, they didn't offer to dock the bill or anything. Heard good things about this place but really didn't think it was all that.

Don't be fooled by the neon lights outside. This is a really classy restaurant. The staff are more than attentive and not in a pushing you out the door way but genuinely wanting to help way. They were very helpful with my vegan/gluten intolerant needs which was wonderful. They even had vegan oyster (mushroom based) sauce! Really great food, atmosphere and service. It's pricey for chinese food but it is very special.

I'm not a fan of this restaurant. Apparently they do good pizzas but that doesn't help when you're gluten intolerant. I usually have chefs trying to figure out something I can eat - not here, even when I called days ahead. Over priced, too noisy, terrible service, and they lsot our reservation for 15 people... even though I can rung to confirm twice.
