I occasionally been to Fujiya even before they made the refurbishment till now. Their menu is broad to choose and taste is usually clean and nice. However, as that restaurant is always booming and little noisy at the dinner time, it's better if you book it earlier and I have to agree that the service is horrible, that it takes several minutes to ask them a cup of water and takes almost 10 minutes to get it.
Concern about the price, it's little costly sounded when you see the menu, but when you see its serving amount, you may understand why. I do recommend this restaurant if you want taste some real Japanese food. But you can't expect the fine embience and service.

Totally Overrated! I was starved and felt like to have anything when entering the shop, but it was seriously disappointing from the start to the end. Seaweed salad was even did not drained the water properly from the lettuce. Udon was too sweet that I had to sprinkle lots of chilli and pepper Mix given. Agedashi tofu, I barely could find taste from it. Sushi was acceptable, but roll, avocado went black about 1/3 of bits but waiter never gave a damn about it although he was looking at it.
Service was good overall as waiter and waitress was very keen to assist. But embience, greasy, filthy tempura oil smell all around the shop, especially outside, I was almost throwing up when I exit to the avenue. Taken as whole, I might, unfortunately, avoided all their famous dishes, still I do not recommend and I never will come back to this restaurant. I wasted my money and my taste bud.
