Great for a coffee and a piece of cake but the main meals are a bit on the plain side (frozen roast potatoes don`t cut it) Having said that though I wouldn`t say the meals are expensive. Service is good and the place has a nice feel to it. It is a bit of an icon in Hastings having been there for years.

Having not been there since 2007 I was looking forward to having a meal there. What a disappointment!

The service was extremely slow and the $32 meal looked more like a "Picasso on plate". It was lukewarm and took eons to arrive. The restaurant was very very cluttered and noisy. My main problem with the Boathouse was the portion, more like a small entree portion. We left feeling hungry and unsatisfied. Plenty of other restaurants in Frankston, won`t be going back to the Boathouse.

Thank you for your review. Why were you looking forward to having a meal at The Boathouse? Had you heard good or bad reviews, why was the restaurant cluttered and noisy? Was it busy? What night did you go? Did you order an entree or main and why was it small??? did you have two or three courses?
