Decided to try the Black Rock one night during Ramadan. Total disappointment. After hearing people rave about it, we thought we were in for a treat, but we couldn't get out of there fast enough in the end.

Arrived to find that the table we had reserved was not organized. Concierge had no idea of our booking. So they set up a table, separating the adults and children onto 2 different tables. Strange considering that the place wasn't fully booked and we had already made a reservation prior. When the people on the table next to us moved, we asked if we could have the children come back and sit with us. 10 minutes later no-one had cleared up the table so I decided to do it myself and had a waiter come and tell me off for doing so.

Eventually sat down to find 5 tiny plates of mezza. No salad, no vegetables of any kind. Not what we are used to breaking our fast on. Ordered our mains. Came out quite quickly. Very average food. Steak was extremely tough. I hate when people put Wagyu on their menu when it is clearly not. Chicken was nice. Waitress forgot our drinks twice. Ambience was disappointing, staff members seemed very flustered and all over the place, no-one was helpful or attentive.

We politely turned down our dessert menu and walked straight out to finish our night at home.

Possibly a case of a good restaurant totally failing at having a Ramadan menu. Will give them one more chance after Ramadan, but there's definitely nothing pulling us back there.

My husband chose to take me to this restaurant for my birthday after he had heard about it on the radio. I had already been there twice and had no complaints. I think the location is beautiful, especially if you walk along the bridge over the river afterwards, which is what we did.

It was a very quiet night. Only 4 small tables were occupied. This was perfect for us because we were after a romantic, relaxing evening. The waiters were extremely attentive. They constantly walked past our table to ask if everything was okay and if there was anything else they could get us. So much to the point that when I accidentally dropped my spoon on the floor, he ran over and replaced it within seconds.

This could possibly be attributed to the fact that it was so quiet and they only had 4 groups of diners to look at and serve, but nevertheless, they were very polite and did their job well.

The food was delicious. I cannot fault it at all. The only negative I can say was that when we made the booking, we weren't informed that weekends are banquet only, which took us by surprise because we had already planned what we were going to order by looking at their menu online. It didn't really matter in the end though because most of what we would've ordered was in the banquet anyway.

We didn't mind the price of $45 per person because we had planned to spend around $150 that night despite where we went to eat. Being Lebanese ourselves we knew what kind of standard the food should be at and in all honesty, it was delicious. I also loved that they quickly replaced anything that finished. Even their desserts (pavlova and creme caramel) were to die for, especially considering that this wasn't their cuisine of specialty.

A great experience overall. Will definitely be back.

Had dinner here with family and loved the experience! Being a weeknight meant it wasn't too busy. The food came out extremely quick and was absolutely delicious! Tasted very authentic and the variety on the menu was very impressive.

The staff were all very friendly and very accommodating to the children, offering kid's plates and cups, an extra chair to sit a baby capsule on, and even free ice-creams as dessert!

The grand total at the end of it all was also very impressive. Well worth the value and a very positive experience overall. Will definitely be back!

The new Taste of Thai in Bankstown is definitely better than where it used to be in Randwick in terms of the atmosphere and setting. The food is still of great quality, and so far, I have not yet to taste better Thai food than at Taste of Thai. Service was great, with staff catering to all the needs of all customers and were very flexible at the time we went. The place is modern and very appealing. A great night out.
