Nice, varied menu with seafood emphasis. Gluten free, lactose free and vegetarian options are marked on the menu, which is helpful, but tends to mean that the staff aren't motivated to answer any questions about the food. I started to ask which of the daily specials (being described by the waitress) were gluten free, and was interrupted before I'd finished asking the question. The service is a bit offhand. Great views and great food make up for this, though.

Portico has had a very nice fitout done. The result is a spacious, classy, carpeted restaurant with good acoustics, so it doesn't get unpleasantly noisy. The food is nice too, but it's the ambience that I keep going back for! A great place to catch up with people when you don't feel like yelling. Reasonable value in view of the classy fitout, I think: about $30 for a main course.

Nice place with good food. Lots of gluten-free options too. This seems like a place that is run by real 'foodies', who prepare all their sauces, cakes, you name it, themselves.

Wow! This place is great. It is small (I counted 26 seats, including outdoors), but it is cosy. The food is creative and (at lunchtime) spans interesting bread-based light meals (including gluten free bread!) and a variety of hot main dishes. Desserts were diverse and included gluten free cakes. The gluten free chocolate cake was good. There are many drink choices, teas, gourmet milkshakes, coffees, you name it. Service was well informed and helpful, and the prices are very good value, too.

Good value and a good menu. A nice bit of exotica in the relative culinary desert immediately north of Hornsby! It impressed our guests as well as we locals. Good place for gluten-free food too, as the waiter said they didn't use wheat flour. Two entrees, three mains, rice for four, four desserts and four drinks came to about $95. Not bad for a group of four people!

Zac's has a large menu, which on closer inspection is like a Chinese restaurant menu, that is, the same item will appear in multiple places with a different meat used. The veges are the same for pretty much every dish. My companion had tandoori fish. We expected this to be baked dry in tandoor style, but instead it was swimming in creamy orange sauce. Since everything on the menu would be appear to be produced in a similar way (take piece of meat, apply sauce, add cooked vegetables) this dish summed up the restaurant's simple approach. Now for the decor! This restaurant seriously lacks any coherent theme in its look. It feels like a temporary leasing in a warehouse, or something like that. Bland white walls, no covering of front window with six lanes of traffic whizzing past, mish mash of styles of art on walls, chairs that match nothing... At least it has carpet, so the acoustics are good!
