Ate here with a small group recently and we all left happy and full. Was a little bit sceptical after seeing this place from the outside but as they say, 'don't judge a book by its' cover'. I had the crab and prawn ravioli which was divine and then followed that with the crab risotto which had an interesting mix of flavours that went well together.
From those that ate the fish dishes, all were very happy and I had food envy watching people eat and enjoy their desserts. Happily recommend this place to other friends.

Apart from the overcrowded chairs in the court yard, my first impression was that this was a pretty 'cool' looking cafe. However, on closer look it was quite run down and dirty feeling, I like the old school feel but it was looking a little worn out. The menu was simple but a decent range of food. I chose the special tandoori focaccia and then waited a very long time for it too arrive, but it was not worth the wait. Toasted nicely but only 2 pieces on small chicken on only half the focaccia. Milkshake and coffee were good though.

Food was nice but ambience lacking. I was a little bit confused as to whether I was at a cafe or restaurant i.e. cafe ambience, stark, loud music but fine dining restaurant menu and prices. We were sat in the back corner which had a distinct smelly feet smell. Ambience aside, the food was nice and our waitress was very helpful and attentive. Decent wine selection but average beer selection.

Two of use went here for dinner and for the duration of the time we were there, the staff were very attentive (perhaps, a little over attentive at times!). I quite liked the ambience of the restaurant, however, we were crammed in and were sitting far to close the couple next us. It was uncormfortably close and I am sure we could each others entire conversation. T
Yhe food came out quite quickly. We ordered pork belly and scallops. Both were delicious but were only 3 mouthfuls. I ordered the duck which was beautfully cooked and very tender. Dessert was the brulee which was delicious. The toilets were terrible. You had to use external ones that were dirty and had a school toilet feel.

Overall a very enjoyable experience. The location was beautiful and on a nice day it would have been great to sit outside. Inside was very crowded and noisy but bearable. We ordered platters to share which were huge and very tasty. I think they forgot about our mains, waited an hour after our platters but it was ok as we were so full from the platters and were happy chatting amongst ourselves.
Mains were delicious (although the confit duck leg was bare but the duck breast underneath it almost made up for it). Will definitely go again on a nice sunny day. It would be great if they had pre-prepared platters that you could purchase and go and eat out on the lawn!

We arrived early and were happy to wait but the waiteress hurried up the people who had the booking before us, slightly embarrassing and couldn't help but give them an apologetic look. Once seated the staff payed us a lot of attention (perhaps, a little too much, we were constantly asked what we wanted to order next, no time to relax). The chairs are very nice, however, there was not enough room where they squeezed us in.
I was on on poof that was pushed up against the wall and table so had to sit sideways. We ordered a few dishes such as zucchini flowers, scallops, a potato dish, pork belly and all of it was fabulous. Servings are on the small size and often not enough to share. They are like an entree. The dessert was the best part, we all ordered something different and all were divine apart from the banana rice pudding, far too heavy.

Very disappointing. I ordered the pancakes with berries for breakfast and received very dry small pikelets with sparse amounts of berries in them. Coffee was very average. My partner ordered a hot breakfast which was very small and the toast that came with it was like supermarket thin sliced white bread. Service was ok except it was a chilly morning so we sat in the sun, we promptly had an umbrella put over us. We said we preferred to be in the sun but they told us it gets hot in the day so they need to get the umbrellas up early? Didn't try the sweets but they did look better than our brekkie.

After reading the review regarding portion sizes I was a little hesistant however, overall the meal was wonderful. The waiter was very attentive. For entre we had scallops, probably the best I have had and the portion was quite sufficient. For mains I had the crispy salmon, very delicate, perfectly cooked and the portion I thought was quite decent.
My partner had the pork, whilst also delicious it was on the small size. The desserts were divine. The apple crumble mouth watering. The panacotta was interesting with pistachio fairy floss and raspberry cannoli, the flavours/textures didn't quite compliment each other, but indivdually all three ingredients were fabulous. It was slightly expensive but for a restaurant of this standard it was to be expected however all the mains were $25 which I found very reasonable.
I noticed on the way out they had a $20 all you can eat pasta night which I assume is keeping the tradition of the old pinnochio restaurant so I will be back to try that and more items on the other menu.

The best chocolates in canberra...actually almost equal with haighs but also pricey. the staff are quite friendly. unfortunately the coffee was terrible, quite weak and watery and the food of the menu was quite disappointing in that it was fairly flavourless

Have had a really delicious breakfast here a few times and scrumptious drinks. Make sure you make a booking though as I have been disappointed a few times and either have to go somewhee else or end up on uncomfy stools. Slightly slow service but worth the wait.
