As a Sydney-sider now residing in Melbourne, I had heard quite a few things about Mezza and finally tried it on Sunday afternoon. I must say this is truly authentic Lebanese food! It was so good I could have mistaken it for my mum's cooking had I been blindfolded and no one makes Lebanese food like my mum!
Hospitality was truly Middle Eastern (warm and friendly) and the ambience made me feel like I was back in Lebanon with the restaurant decked out in photos from the motherland, cushions and other traditional houseware. This will definitely be a regular for me!

As a Sydney-sider travelling here on my own, I decided to take myself out to dinner on a Friday night and found Block Place to be quite a buzz. The gentleman at the door lured me in (I don't usually like this but for some reason it worked this night) and I kindly took a seat outside on the walkway which was beautifully lit with candles- great ambience- check!
The dinner menu was very impressive for a caffe compared to many of Sydney's cafe's. I ordered the Seared lamb fillet with a potato salad of chats, chorizo sausage, red capsicum, spring onion and a seeded mustard mayo and my goodness was it good! So good, I have highly rated it as the BEST meal I've probably ever had!
The service was impeccable, the owner Sam was my waiter that evening and what service he showed me! Very hospitable and sweet. Service: Check! Food: Check check!
I came back the next morning for breakfast, how could I refuse such good food! I had the Corn and caramelised onion fritters with grilled bacon, rocket, pesto and tomato relish, MY ADDICTION and something I constantly crave! Coffee is great too and they also do fresh juices for the health conscience and their breakfast menu is all day.
This is one place I keep going back to when I pop into Melbourne.
