Old style Chinese restaurant serving expensive, but normally tasty food. Can't help but feel I'm part of a huge production line of food preparation and consumption.
My advice is to order the specific dishes you want rather than the banquets. They have a wonderful array of wines in the wine cabinets but be prepared to pay for them if you go high end.

The Wok sets a great standard for a reliable local Chinese restaurant. Dined here 20+ times over the years - two owners in that time. The food is always freshly prepared and served. You can see the wok-based cooking from your seats and the little kitchen is always a hive of activity. Great entrees (Chicken Satay is a favourite of the kids) and ver nice stir-frys. Dabbles in other asian styles - but the stir-frys always seem the tastiest. Excellent and reliable local Chinese.

Great location - beautiful building. The food is consistent (from two visits) and slightly above average but nothing to make it stand out from average pub/bistro food and expensive for what it is. The beer options are great but expensive, and wine list is average. The place can be noisy, which is fine if thats what you're there for. Go for a big, boozy night out and hearty food but don't expect gourmet food.

These guys seem to have no real interest in customers or in actually running a decent restaurant. The go through the motions of running a restaurant. Ordinary food which is priced way above its performance. Wait staff appear enthusiastic but untrained.
If you do go there, take your own wine ($3 pp corkage) as the wine list is average and expensive - house wines start at $30 per bottle. The fact that they allow BYO wine is the only positive thing I can say about them.

A nicely renovated pub which appears to be under new management. Certainly a new chef who has improved the food immeasurably. On half price nights, you can get two very good steaks for $10-$15 - yes that's right two steaks. A better selection of wines and the occasional smile from the bar staff would make it even better. Incredible value for money.

Good home-cooked style Lebanese food. Sanbousik is outstanding and the grilled skewers have a great taste. The place has a good vibe and the service is very good. One thing to watch - on busy nights, the food can come out warm rather than hot - if so - ask then for a quick reheat. BYO welcome. A very pleasant experience.

Average Chinese food with a very high price attached. Drinks are also prohibitive (300%+ markup) and will not allow BYO (I wonder why?). Never again.

Great Pizza - delivery can be slow and the prices are creeping up, they went up when petrol got expensive but didn't go down with the petrol price 30% lower than it was.

If you have been here before late 2008, do yourself a favour and go back. The new chef delivers very good pub food at a maximum of $12. Depending on the night, the dish of the day which includes steaks and Schnitzels can be as cheap as $8.
The wine list has also improved, although drinks are a little expensive for a pub. A huge improvement, all we need now is a little music to build the atmosphere, and I will return with friends on a weekly basis.
Revisit 2011 - different chef. Staff not as friendly. Wine list has changed. Rated down.

Well priced and tasty Thai food. My favourite is the Massaman Beef - a peanut inspired curry with braised beef which melts in the mouth. Friendly service which allows BYO wines. Great value for money.
