A nice selection of pizza made with a good crispy thin base. My Diavola, with salami, mushroom, parmesan, chilli and basil had the required heat without being overpowering but was a bit too salty. I can picture them being quite noisy on a busy night and the dark old floor tiles don't help. Not for the fancy night out but for quality pizza with a good beer.

Thanks to a special Ent Book offer reducing the 10 course deg menu from $90pp to $60pp this was excellent value. Three of us ate on a quietish Wed night. We certainly had no problems with the service as a few others have claimed. They have a good deal for matching wines but they also allow BYO on Mon-thur, so I brought a beaut 1986 Cab Shiraz which they immediately decanted for us.
Oddly not a single course from the ten was seafood, which delighted me but may bother others although as they change the menu monthly it'll prob be different next month. Courses included beef, eggplant, zucchini, prosciutto, too many to name but enjoyed them all.
Definitely worth a visit if you want somewhere nice without being stiflingly formal.

A fun night and well run as a theatre style restaurant but let down by very ordinary food. No choice, even in First Class, which at $70 a head doesn't make for good value.

Not very impressive. Vaguely like a US diner but could barely hear the music. The food was ordinary. The Chilli Fries were undercooked, my burger was nothing special with vastly too much mayo in it, the waiter not particularly polite. Could not recommend.

Old style pub, rather cramped and not enough chairs on a Fri night, but the people were pleasant and the food was fine too.

Don't know about their claim to be Mod Oz with a South African twist. Ate there on a Thurs night and the menu was more Trad Oz without a twist. Burgers, steak sandwiches, ribs, schnitzels. I had a definitely not lo-cal bacon wrapped chicken with brie and garlic spinach, which was very tasty.
My son chomped his way through a huge slab of ribs which came with chips but was missing the advertised salad. Another had Barramundi which he said was nice if slightly overcooked and the last the Salt and Pepper Squid which she was too salty.
The chap serving was the only thing South African I could see anywhere and whilst he was friendly it was all very very slow. It took two hours for a main each and garlic bread. Just the bread was a 45 minutes wait. So put this one on your list to possibly avoid on the busier nights and definitely for families rather than fine dining.

Went here to do the usual entree and main bit, but the tapas menu was so interesting we never got past that, and many of the tapas we went back for twice. Lovely old house with a nice ambience, only knocked one point thanks to a rowdy table nearby. Can't stand people who think their enjoyment is paramount and overrides anyone else's right to a nice night out.
Sadly, not enough restaurants are game to ask a table to cool it a bit. Other than this distraction, we had a very enjoyable meal with good service. Definitely the most expensive Thai I've been to but for once I felt we got what we paid for.

Typical local cantonese joint with all the common dishes and few surprises. Decent sized serves and reasonable prices.

This is pretty basic Cabramatta-style Vietnamese with hard tables and chairs and little to brighten up the place but good sized portions of cheap and tasty food. Located a couple of blocks away from the main Chatswood shops so easy to be missed but easier to park as well. They replace an earlier Vietnamese that didn't last too long. Hopefully this one will do better. The english isn't great but they are smilingly helpful.

An unusual cuisine heavily into lamb and wheat dishes. We had dumplings which were very similar to gyoza, an odd potato salad made from stringed potato in a vinegary sauce, lamb skewers in a tasty cumin coating, uyghur pancake and one other dish. Overordered as the serves are generous. The prices are very reasonable and the food is delicious and a little different. The decor is homely and the service is welcoming.
