I ate here for breakfast with some friends from Port Melbourne. Brekkie for me was poached egg with crunchy grilled asparagus, beautiful creamy Hollandaise and the best smoked salmon I've ever tasted. My husband had a delicate mushroom bruschetta with soft goats cheese and sweet balsamic. The coffee was perfect and service was attentive.
The staff were friendly and the owner knew my friends by name and came over to introduce himself. If I were local to the area I'd be in here every weekend, if I could get a table. A great place to bring the dogs along too: there's a quiet courtyard out the back and big comfortable tables out the front. I will definitely be back.

Great pizza, good value, but the our waiter seemed uninterested and it's such a loud, uninspiring space. A great place to get a takeaway maybe?

If you can fight your way to the bar the service is prompt but impersonal, the cocktails are delicious and great value during happy hour! This is an awesome place to grab an after-movie drink with friends. Try the Red Corvettes and the Long Island Iced Teas are lethal.

I have had so many great breakfasts here, the coffee is good and the courtyard has a warm, chilled-out vibe. A great place to wake up after a big night.

I can't fault this place. The food is excellent, there's a chilled out vibe, it's warm in winter and it lets you bring your own beer. The service is prompt and the garlic and cheese bread is the best I have ever tasted. I have to force myself not to order this for dinner every night. Perfect.

I love this little cafe, it does the best vegetarian breakfast in Bondi (followed closely by Katipo Cafe House's vego fast on Bondi rd). Ask for the vego brekky with poached eggs, it's always a winner. I think it's changed hands recently or at least changed its name, it's now called Jo and Willy's Depot. They always seem to undercharge me (maybe they're disorganised or maybe they're just nice to their regulars!!).
The service is slow but friendly and the food is worth the wait. The only thing to watch for is the coffee, it's extremely patchy, sometimes great, sometimes awful (as it was today). And for lunch, the chicken burger is delicious!

This is a great place to meet friends for a drink. A great range of wines, a cosy atmosphere, and an awesome menu of tapas treats. The funky, tattooed waitress was helpful and charming and the decor is awesome. My only comment is the cost for tapas, it will set you back quite a bit.

It's always a pleasure to lose yourself in this cute bookshop-cum-cafe. I love it. The staff are always helpful, the coffee is consistently good, and there's a huge range of books to peruse over your latte. A wonderful place to whittle away the hours.

My husband and I headed to Katipo for brekky last weekend for the first time in over six months and it was like stepping into a completely different cafe. The last time we were there, the food was excellent but the coffee was ordinary and the service was slow. On Saturday the service was prompt and attentive, the coffee was so good I had two (very unusual for me!!) and the food was excellent (as it always has been).
Our friendly, courteous waitress informed us that the cafe has changed hands recently and that they have plans to change the menu and start opening evenings. I only hope they keep the eggs benedict, it was to die for! We'll be back next weekend.
