Nearly missed out on dining at this superb restaurant. I rang about 6.30 pm last Saturday night to make a booking for 8 pm. Was told by the male that the restaurant was booked out. Working in this industry I know that restaurants are able to turn tables over for at least 2 sittings. So dissatisfied with that answer, I got my partner to ring 10 minutes later. This time the lady who answered said we could have a table for 8.30. Perfect! Could you imagine our surprise when at 7.45 pm we got a phone call to say we could come at 8 pm!

Booking dramas aside we ordered the seafood platter for 2 and I can understand why this is their signature dish. Its superb, so big, fresh and tasty. Compliments to the chef. We tried hard but, unfortunately, just couldn't finish it. The wine list is very reasonably priced and a nice bottle of wine went down very well.

Overall thoroughly enjoyed this place, but just a little advice to the owners, be careful who answers the phone, because they could be turning away a lot of potential customers. Highly recommended and look forward to coming again.

Lovely place and the food was delicious. Between my partner and I we shared 5 different meals and all were great, especially the Heaven Duck! Divine! Will definitely be back to try more of the menu. Highly recommended.

I love this place for their ribs, absolutely mouth watering and delicious. I've also eaten the steaks here and they are good but definitely ribs are the way to go.
Service is prompt and efficient, though it can be difficult to get a table. Everytime I've been with a booking still had to wait about 15 minutes for a table and if you don't have a booking expect to wait up to an hour. Though I must admit the wait is well worth it.

Nice restaurant situated on a nice location. Dined here with my partner and we thoroughly enjoyed it. Started the night off with a Long Island Iced tea and followed with a Salmon main, mixed entree seafood platter and 1/2 doz oysters kilpatrick to share. All meals were well presented and tasty. Finished off with apple crumble and a cheeseplate. Divine.

Service was very consistent, although we did dine at 9 pm. I presume that early in the night would have been quite busy, so I can understand the below comments about lack of service. Overall we enjoyed Nicks and look forward to dining at their other venues.

A great restaurant. Dined here on a weekend away, visiting from Sydney. The meals from entree, main and dessert were all superb, could not be faulted. Nice and cosy ambience even with a full restaurant. Definitely worth a visit if you are in the Barossa.

Nice and cosy little restaurant set up in an historic house. Service was abit slow, seemed to be only 2 waiters serving on a Saturday night. Took awhile to order, and 20 minutes before an entree of bruschetta came out. We were not even half way through it before the mains were brought to us. Would have preferred a break, instead of having to rush through the entree.

Mains were lovely, very good portion size and accompanied with vegies/sides. Desserts were also delicious. Overall a lovely restaurant, and quite good value for money. Will definitely be back to try other menu items. Highly recommended.

Great location with a lovely ambience. Meals were well portioned and service pretty good. A tad expensive, but I suppose that is the price you pay for being in a 'touristy' location. Noticed they had a 2 for 1 deal, which seemed pretty good value for money, so I would like to go back and suss that out. Overall I would definitely recommend this place.

In terms of ambience, this place is so grand and beautiful, such an amazing fitout. Had dinner here with 2 friends recently and whilst the food was good, it was still short of outstanding, for the price you were paying. We all had a different entree each, and all 3 were superb.

Mains were disappointing though. One friend had waygu chuck in red wine, and the red wine sauce was so strong and overpowering that she barely ate half her meal. I had crispy leather jacket in "crazy water" Was disappointed that it was battered as the menu had not said this. My other friend had a waygu skirt and that was tasty, although all it was, was a piece of steak sliced on a plate with no sides.

Thankfully we had ordered a side of chips and mac and cheese. Still not quite sure why so many reviewers have raved about this "mac and cheese", as it wasn't anything spectacular. Thankfully desserts were better with the apple galette a stand out and the salted butter caramels divine.

Overall, it was a pleasurable dining experience, though next time I might just stick to ordering a steak.

I have dined here on numerous occasions now and everytime it seems to get better and better. Definitely have my favourites such as the Mixed Grill and half lobster mornay at $20, better yet a full lobster mornay at $35! Now thats value for money.

I also enjoy their specials which change daily. I've enjoyed 3 of the daily specials on different occasions and each meal was faultless. The waitstaff are always so assertive and friendly, but what I still love most about this place, is it's value for money. Their mains are very reasonably priced and it would be hard to find a place right in the city, who can offer meals at such a low price whilst still offering the quality produce they offer.

Highly recommended.

Dined here for lunch. A great little spot and were seated on the balcony on a pleasant sunny day, overlooking the water.

We shared a seafood platter. When the platter came out, it was indeed very pleasing to the eye as it was very large. However, it terms of quality of produce, was quiet disappointing. The grilled octopus was so chewy, and there was way too much fried seafood. At $145 I'd expect alot more fresh seafood and simply grilled seafood, instead of having everything in batter and deep fried.

I would like to come back again and maybe next time try the 3 course set menu as that seemed alittle more enticing.
