Wow, what a surprise. We were in the area today and decided to stop by for lunch. Although the place was jam packed, we managed to get a table. Everything was beautiful! The bread promptly came out and you could tell it was fresh. Despite how busy they were, the service was impeccable. As a matter of fact, I would dare to say, the service was on par with that of any 3 hat restaurant. We never had to ask for anything.
When the dipping oil ran out, they noticed right away and quickly replaced it. Water glass was never empty. And even if it looked like you might have a question, someone would immediately come over. The service was attentive but not over bearing.
I ordered the scampi pasta which was cooked to perfection. The flavours were really fresh. My husband had the wagu rigatoni which was so tender and full of flavour. We will definitely be coming back!

I have given this place at least 4 chances and every time it's disappointed me. The steak was over cooked, the escargot too salty, the duck too dry, and all the desserts were poor. It's a shame because we live so close to this place, it would be so nice if the food was actually decent. As for value for money, forget it.

This is still my favorite restaurant in Pyrmont! However, I was disappointed to read all the negative comments about this place. Although I do have to admit, I've only had lunch here once and was greatly disappointed. I mainly come for dinner and it's always good. In saying that, there are certain things I only order which I think this place prepares superbly! That's the duck, beef and lamb. I think the passionfruit brulee, chocolate fondant and profiteroles are excellent dessert choices as well! Can't say much for their fish dishes though as I haven't been too impressed with them. When it's busy, the service is a bit slow but still pretty attentive. See my first review back in Nov 08.
The truffle mashed potatoes are the best I've ever had and I highly recommend the duck and creme brulee. I've taken almost all my friends here and every time the food has been spectacular and service attentive. Too bad the location doesn't have water or city views but with food that good, who cares!

We stumbled upon the one in the Rocks one afternoon and thought it was the cutest little place! We ordered the smoked salmon salad with avocado and baguette. It was nice. But the real icing on the cake was the waffle with belgium chocolate. It was one of the lightest and crispiest waffles I've ever had! Yummm.... Only downside is I told the waitress our ice cream (comes with the waffle) tasted like it had freezer burn. She said she would tell the chef but never came back to do anything about it. Pretty poor considering the price of salad, baquette, dessert and coffee came to $60.

There were 7 of us so I got to try almost everything on the menu and it was all good! My fav was the escargot! And in true French form, the bread was deliciously fresh and the cheese selection was plenty. Lamb shank just fell off the bone. Duck was nice too. Any French place that puts tart tatin on the menu and comes out beautiful is truly a French experience! The staff were not French wanna bees either. All spoke eloquent French and the ambience was intimate. Loved it!

This is an amazing place and our favorite! We've been here numerous times and the service always exceeds our expectations. You definitely get what you pay for. Oh and the food, yummm. Everything is divine and the wine selection is second to none! These people really know their stuff. Warning: save room for their dessert platter!

Ambience here made me feel like I was in Paris! Very cute place. Had the truffle gnoochi and lamb which were both very good! Actually, the gnoochi was amazing! Dessert was just ok.

What a disappointment. We eat out all the time and was so excited when this place opened up as there's not very many restaurants in the area that you can walk to. The staff we unknowlegeable and only seemed interested in upselling by assuming when I said water that I'd want mineral bottled water. They were blatantly offended when I didn't want to order any wine with my meal. They keep their wine out and exposed to the varying tempatures so when my husband ordered his wine it was uncomfortably warm.
The food was average at best and the creme brulee was awful. They claim it's their specialty but it was poorly done and had no real vanilla bean in it. What is the deal with putting rhubarb on the bottom? Was it just for bulk? It certainly wasn't for flavor. This place clearly uses short cuts in their ingredients. The place was empty when we came in except for 1 other table which seemed to be people that knew the senior staff. The senior staff had no interest in how the place was being run except for in the end when he brought over our bill to see how everything was.
I was very polite and told him what I thought of the staff and the creme brulee as I think senior staff would appreciate constructive feedback. Only I was surprised to be met with abruptive, dishonest, and defensive responses. I asked him why they didn't use real vanilla beans in the creme brulee and he said they did. So where were the black specks of the vanilla bean? I also told him the caramelised sugar on the creme brulee was too thick and burnt that I had to lift it off with my fingers because it wouldn't crack when I hit it with my spoon.
The senior staff came back with asking me where my experience came from and basically making me feel like some kind of criminal. We will never go back to this place. Don't waste your money here.

This has got to be the BEST Thai I have ever had! The fried barramundi pieces was surprisingly delicious and definitely my favorite dish. I had a little bit of everyone's dessert and they were all amazing! My fav has got to be the coconut creme brulee.
