Rip Off Alert! Only after paying did I realize the bill was $73.00! - for two soups and a prawn entree! The Prawn Entree cost $33.00 and comprised of 9 prawns and some mushy red stuff. The Tom Yum soup was pretty average and was over $30 each.
The service was painfully slow and took over 50 minutes to come out - Mobday night with the place half empty. The Entree was also cold. Poor slow service, average food, outrageously expensive, an expensive error which I won't be repeating. Avoid this place at all costs! Take your business elsewhere where your coin will be appreciated.

Staff seemed disinterested and bored. We were generally ignored and had to chase up a staff member if we wanted something. The wine list was extensive but the food very ordinary, minuscule portions of food that seemed to be comprised of shop cheese and crackers. I know it Paddington but even so very expensive for what you get. The seating is uncomfortable and an attempt at interior design that seems a bit too "try hard". So overall nothing special and nothing memorable - falls flat when compared to many other wine bars in Sydney. I predict that it will be out of business in one year. Shame really as I live around the corner.

This place advertises itself fraudulently as a wine bar - it is rather a first rate place to eat. The food was sensational and unlike anything else I have eaten in a long while perfectly cooked, imaginative, perfectly plated and amazing taste. This is all topped by staff who look like they enjoy working there - nice to be served by cheerful people. The two owners seem to be everywhere and this shows - I bet they can't keep it up!

I think it's just reopened, couldn't get a meal there not sure why, service good but all those hard surfaces made it the loudest place in the Southern Hemisphere, we could not hold a conversation. Inside has been well decorated but please do something about the hard surfaces and the noise. The bouncers scowling at patrons is also not a great look.

Seems to have lifted it's game, service fine and a very very good eye fillet steak. Burger and sausages also very good. Even the mashed potato was great, salad fresh. Waiter happily changed a glass of wine we thought was "off". Service a bit slow but I don't mind waiting if the food is good.

A good case study for business students. I used to eat here often on a weekend as the food was pretty reasonable, prices ok and kid friendly. Quality of food has slipped, prices gone up but still probably ok but I have an issued with a policy to keep kids out away from the pub. I stopped in the front bar with my 4 year old daughter to chat with a friend and was told off by one the bar staff.
Once in the dining room my 4 year old made friends with the little girl at the next table, were told off again by another member of the bar staff who said my daughter had to return to her seat. It's a silly policy to try and keep families out of the pub, I won't be returning and suspect they have now lost a lot of business. Have a look at the Newtown Courthouse, lots of kids having fun make for a great atmosphere and brings in business.

As a local I can say that without out exception, this cafe was consistently the best cafe in Newtown in terms of service, quality and value for money. Not sure what has happened in the last 12months, but it has gone from being outstandingly good to being like most of the others. The coffee is still very good but the quality of the food and the staff is now pretty much like all the other Cafes in the inner west. It's all "alright" and not bad enough to actively complain about. Bit of a shame really as it seems that the two fellows running it spent so much effort in building up the Cafes reputation - perhaps they have run out of puff - or perhaps it's changed hands.

The second worst restaurant that I have ever eaten at (the worst being Doyles at Watsons Bay) - the staff had a sad and beaten look about them and seemed to be trying their best but were probably worn down by angry patrons. Serving battered roadkill and trying to pass it off as an aquatic creature shows real balls and for this I salute Doyles. Go anywhere else to be fed unless you want the "Fawty Towers" experience.
