Took some work colleauges there for an end of year lunch last week. Didn't know what to expect, given the place has been trading for ages, with that sort of history then the food should be ok I was thinking. Well it was not overly busy but the service was poor. We ordered easy dishes to prepare due to our short time frame, but after waiting for over one hour we just had to speak up.
Lots of sorry`s and they gave us a free drink each but I guess it never quite makes up for the downfall. The food was ok, overpriced for what you get IMO. The place ssems to rely on a heavey passing trade of non locals, so I guess they can get away with poor service and speed out of the kitchen. Wouldn't bother again.

With all the hype I had to take my partner there for a treat. After booming the place up for seafood I expected a nice easy to read and understandable menu. Alas the menu? - too many choices and too many ways to cook fish!. Anyway, was greeted on a pretty humid evening by a guy in a suit! This isn't France it's Queensland, so what gives? - no need for it, it's just a fish restaurant with a view.
So we battle with the stupid menu, order up and yep, it's all bland, where is the beaut flavours that are advertised in the menu? Service was ok, bit of waving here and there to get attention but that seems to be normal for Brisbane. So the bill arrives and you guessed it, it's overpiced for what you get. Nice view but the whole experience was average in my book. I think the place is struggling for an identity, whatever they are trying to be isn't working for me.

Moved here from Sydney where there are many good Indian Curry places to chow down in. But alas I found the Brisbane Indian Curry scene devoid of real good authentic Curry Houses. Living in the city I was searching for that Indian Curry House without having to venture to the West End and low and behold I discover "Club India" in Elizabeth Street, the city. I booked up and took a mate and together we have eaten many hundreds of Indian curries over the years.
Yes - this one didn't disappoint. Top menu with all the standard Indain dishes covered, some good speciality dishes, excellent service, good size portions and a great selection of drinks (Beers, Wines, Soft Drinks). Great value for what you get as well. Without doubt one of the best Indian Curry Houses we have eaten in and the best in Brisbane by far. Go try it! - before it gets discovered and then you won't get a table when you want to impress friends and relatives. Very highly recommended.

This is our local and the whole show is very well run by the manager Ruben. He looks after us every time and the girls are very friendly and efficient. The menu is the usual cut above pub style and varied enough to challenge the numerous taste styles. The crowd is after work trendy and business types and the drinks are at bar prices with a solid wine list. Not too noisy as the tables are well spaced. All up this place runs like clockwork and the food if fine. Just a good consistent restaurant in the city. What more could you want.

Been twice and the first time it was an acceptable Indian food experience. But time 2 - blah.....it was a shocker, bland, bland, bland. Vindaloo and Korma meat were tough and the sauce very watery. Lentils.....no, just not right, to watery, no flavour. Naan Bread was average. However, maybe it was an off night so prepared to give it one more go.

I have eaten here a few times now and whilst you are paying for the view, the prices are not at the top end. What do you expect when you have the ambience, the location and a solid steak and crab menu with a well presented wine list. Rent doesn`t come cheap in these locations and what makes this place a winner on my entertaining circuit is its consistency. Add some friendly and helpful staff and you have all the right ingredients for a great steak and crab experience. Recommend you give it a go.

OK this is a steak house.........so what do you expect???..............great steaks and good service and a good wine list to go with it all. In this area it doesn`t disappoint but the value for money is just not there. Anyway I suppose it's what you are looking for that counts.
One thing that would put many female customers offside is the stupid advertorial in the toilets for the "Char Restaurant" in Darwin......which does depict two inappropriate pictures of a female in the nude and a profile of a crocodile. 'It's just art" but the stupidity of the 2 pictures means that we will not be back to this one!! We are not wowsers but c`mon it`s not the 80`s anymore and we deserve a little more respect. We also learnt that there has been many other complaints about this as well. So you make up your own mind.

Read all the hype so we had to try this one out. Safe to say it took numerous tries to get a booking for 2 and then 4 - so the place must be jumpin.
Got in on a Sunday before Xmas - must have been early December 06. Be advised that Sunday is family day - so plenty of kids and inlaws.
The food was good to very good on the day and the service was ok. It was busy and we got forgotten a few times - a bit of shouting and waving fixed this but that aside overall no issue. We got into the swing for January 07 and took the inlaws - (like everyone else does on a Sunday) and again more than acceptable food quality and service. Price - take plenty of moula and you will leave wounded - but hey Cronulla is back with this one - so enjoy.

Since it changed hands and they got an experienced ex Double Bay operator in - the joint is excellent. Best Barista in Coogee and very friendly service. Great coffee only ever tried the breaky and no issue. I can eat plenty and there was plenty. Best turkish toast as well. Overall, forget the rest in Coogee, too many inexperienced coffee shop operators, go with the experience at Renato`s.

I live in Coogee and drive to Chans at Minto to eat Chinese food 2 times per month. Tony (the owner) runs a great ship here. The menu is "A Typical" of any good Chinese show and the specials are good value and very tasty. No MSG - so no dry horrors a couple of hours after filling up. This is the best Chinese food in Sydney!!!. Always busy - dine in (be sure to book or you will miss out on Friday and/or Saturday nights) and continuous takeway. Good service. You must try the "Chans Teahouse Chicken" - this is to die for!!. Great value - 4 x pax - and we eat plenty and still cant get the bill over $90.00. BYO - but Minto bottle shop right next door - so no issue. So - you want the best Chinese food in Sydney?? - just go there and see for yourself.
