The food was great, however we were rushed out of the restaurant on a monday night whilst the restaurant still had a few spare tables.

We came here about a month ago and the waiter was great. He was very attentive, but never overbearing. We ordered their steaks, and that was great. One of our desserts had paper and foam in it!! We alerted them and got that dessert free. It was a nice night though aside from that, the steak and service was great.

This restaurant is really yummy. I can never enter Masuya or Musashi without ordering their green tea shake. The sashimi's always fresh, agedashi tofu's yummy and their mains are also really nice. They've recently renovated and it doesn't feel as cosy as it used to, but it's still great food and service.

Wow. We went to this restaurant as a treat for our trip down to Melbourne. It was great. The ambience was great. The service was very attentive, and our waiter was like our own sommelier. We had the degustation menu, my partner had all the wines accompanying it, and the meals were great.
The swordfish shooter was the best way to start the evening. It is a good sign when the table next to us ordered the shooters before even looking at their menus! The wasabi pannacotta was also great. The tastes wonderfully compliment each other, and you can taste flavours on 3 different levels with most of the courses. The steamed shitake mushroom itself was nice, but the roast duck broth was quite plain. The coconut ocean trout was also wonderfully tasty, the five spiced roasted pork belly was nice, but such a small serving, even for degustation serves. The wagyu beef was a let down. We were really looking forward to this course, but the sauce was too heavy and thick. The dessert platter to top off was also great. (Problem when you cannot decide, you end up eating everything!).
We spent about 3 hours there, and probably had the most food in the whole restaurant, between the two of us, it was a bit pricey, but it was worth it, mainly because of the service. It is definitely an experience, and it has wetted our appetite to try some more hatted restaurants in Sydney. It deserves it's two hats, but only for special occasions I would say. If price is not an issue, then go for it.

This restaurant is tucked away in a little alleyway in Chinatown and we only found out about it from the numerous reviews on other sites about the great food at this place. We came here at 1:00am on a Saturday night and it was quite packed. We had sang chow bao and combination congee.. wow, talk about authenticity. It was great, and definately good value for money. It's nice and warming for the soul as a late night nibbly after a long day. Will go again next time we're in Melbourne. Beats late night room service any day

We have been here once, and once too many. We ordered a pizza, that had lukewarm, borderline cold toppings to discover that the base was burnt. Seems like the pizza was just reheated by the base. We ate 1/3 of the pizza and left for the movie.

I agree with some of the other reviews. The food and service at this restaurant seems to of dropped off recently. We went for the sushi train on a Friday night and there was such a poor selection we ended up ordering a few dishes from the a la carte menu. The agadeshi tofu is nice, (touch on the salty side, but that was okay), we had sashimi and the donkatsu pork to compensate for the small selection and serves on the sushi train. We don't remember it being this bad, and will not be going back.

The restaurant is great! We come here every few weeks and it's always prompt service. The restaurant does get busy but we always manage to get a seat within a reasonable time frame. We're addicted to the green tea shake and the teriyaki chicken and wagyu beef is a bit hit and miss but the food is always yummy and very reasonably priced. Will definately go back again and again.

We came here for a dinner last week and had a table right by the window with a nice view of the bay. We had oysters as an entree, which were nice, although there were bits of shell (which may not be helped?) and the barramundi was nice. We had sides of roast potatoes and Greek salad which made us completely full, but there's always room for the chocolate and hazelnut mousse, which was nice. But you could tell it wasn't made fresh on the premises. It was a nice experience, we had a christmas party there and it was quite child friendly.

This restaurant is a delight to look at and be in. We had a table by the window and it's nice to feel as though you've got the whole restaurant to yourself with personalised service. The dishes were great, all the way from the entree to dessert and the wines were also a great marraige. Would go again for other special occasions.
