Travelled from Sydney to try given excellent reviews and we did enjoy the day.
Lovely cottage, great wait staff, however, smoke smell throughout unappealing.
We enjoyed the entrees, the mains were ordinary and flavourless, however, the meringue dessert was superb. Avoid tables near the kitchen as the toilets are directly opposite the kitchen and there is no dividing door between. This is a worry. Would I visit again and take friends from Sydney. Probably not.

Quiet weekday evening. Unwelcoming staff. Enjoyed the Tuscan style onion soup. Main of Grilled fish a confusion of flavours. Poorly cooked and presented. Old style heavy Italian cooking. Many people rave about this place, however, I would hate to be there on a busy night and I'm not into rubbish food. That being said, we would like to give benefit of doubt, however, unlikely to try again. Staff with attitude. Over it.

Don't want to really tell you about this little gem as it is still largely undiscovered. Laze away your afternoon with a good wine and an antipasto plate to die for, not to mention the view. The lunch menu is varied and our favorites have to the 'studio caesar' and the 'veal shank pappadelle.' both the wine list and menu are surprisingly good. If you like to eat outside and gaze out on the harbor, you won't be disappointed.

September 2010:
On a rather gorgeous spring morning one would expect the place to be full for breakfast. Not so. Another disappointing visit. Food out in wrong order, loud crackly music, food cold. When the waitress tells you that they got the food order wrong because it is was so busy (it was half empty) then something is very wrong.
We gave it our best shot and kept hoping it would improve.
Won't be back.
The view is to die for, however; it doesn't make up for the loud radio playing, or the less than quality food. This restaurant does try and we have been here on many occasions. It needs some serious work to be truly successful despite the gorgeous view. Disappointed again.
May 2009 - The view makes the place. We love the being so close to the beach. We also live in the hope that the owners/manager will get this right. On a beautiful autumn morning this place should have been hopping. Instead, plenty of tables available.
We were greeted by a harried manager, less that capable waiters and suffered from the tired old 'we have the superb beach vista we don't need to do anything else syndrome.'
On a positive note, the scratchy radio noise has been replaced by music, not relaxing sunday breakfast music, but at least music. The customer needs to be the focus as well as the food.
April 2008 - Took a friend here for Sunday breakfast and although the view is magic, the service and rush and noise is less than idyllic for a Sunday morning. One does expect staff to be welcoming of customers rather than viewing them as a nuisance. In case the owner has forgotten it’s the customers that bring in the dollar. I still live in hope that this place will get it right. It could be so much better.

Divine, divine, divine. Ambience, soft, muted, elegant. Service attentive and delightful. Food, superb. Six adult diners with main choices from pork belly to prawn and bug risotto, to angus steak. Melt in your mouth orgasmic moments had by all. Wonderful wine list. The piece de resistance was the chocolate parfait and matching dessert wine. Floated off into outer space with this one. Highly recommended. The chef is a master! We can't wait to go back.

Small bistro attached to local pub. The value steak meals can't be beaten for price and quality. Want a cheap and nourishing well cooked feed? This is the place. The chef is friendly and welcoming and knows his patrons. Family atmosphere with pub ambience.

March 2010 - still peaceful and gorgeous on a sunny day. The coffee is improving, however the food needs help. One can only hope that a good chef can be found to support this lovely cafe.
The view is peaceful and gorgeous on a sunny day. I like the coffee. I go here regularly for coffee and sit outside under the umbrella's. It is a magic spot looking out over the boats and the small beach. The food and service however, if you go for a meal are not quality nor fresh nor even well presented. This place would be wonderful if there were professionals cooking and serving.

It's loud, noisy, cosmopolitan and busy. The service was friendly and quick and the breakfast was so very tasty. I could see that our neighbours at the same table were enjoying a hearty meal and the smells were delicious. If you can cope with the noise it's well worth the visit. We will go again with our family.

As we arrived at the cafe another family was following behind, one of whom had a baby in a pram. The waitress asked if we would mind taking a table upstairs so that the mother with the pram could have the table at which we were about to be seated.
We went upstairs, sat down and waited. Ten minutes passed. A waitress came along and cleared a table. Another few minutes passed and two further groups took tables. None of us were served. Finally two waitresses came upstairs. By this time it was all too late. When I asked to speak with the senior staff, the waitress told me that she was the senior staff. I explained what had happened and said I was surprised that after being asked to give up our table downstairs that we were given no service upstairs.
The senior staff was at a loss for words. It really isn't good enough Rocks Cafe. I wouldn't recommend you to anyone, least of all a visiting tourist. They would be appalled by the lack of service and total disinterest in the customer.

Breakfast at Sage left so much to be desired. The fruit salad consisted of apple, and more apple, orange and pear with a scratch of hard nectarine. The yoghurt was out of a dairy farmers container. As this place has been recommended to me more than once, we did visit and it was a waste of money. Not good enough Sage!
