Lovely looking room, great staff once they started. They open at 6pm, not a minute earlier as the staff were having a briefing. There were alot of people waiting as we were the first seating, as we were going to a show. I would have thought if you are running a large restaurant in a 5 star hotel that this would not be uncommon to start at 530pm.

When the food arrived it lacked any great depth of flavour. Side dishes were very poor, McDonald's fries $10 and over cooked green beans? I think they could do better for the price. Not sure how they scored a chef's hat?

A classic case of a Fawlty Towers dining experience. Arrived at 1pm on a Sunday, 2 people we did not book. Probably 8 tables vacant and it was a big decision to squeeze us in.

First waitress asked us what we wanted as she handed us the menus, asked for a few minutes then never saw her again. Finally flagged down a waiter, we ordered 2 mains and 2 glasses of wine. He commented I'll get your wine now as the food will take a while, when I asked why? he just shrugged it off and disappeared. The guy next to us was also having trouble getting served the waitress reappeared at his table but when asked for menus and something to drink she said her shift was over and she was about to leave!

About 30 minutes later the food arrived, as I was not in a rush that was ok and given the earlier comments I was surprised. The food was ok, fish and chips and thai fish cakes, nothing exciting but ok. Had an ok coffee and asked for the bill. The same guy that had been serving us presented me with a bill for 2 coffees $ 8.

On paying the cash register I told the other waiter we had lunch as well, 2 mains, 2 wines. It was not in the computer, he went out the back came back and said we had paid with a voucher, I was confused and the waiter said, oh just pay for the coffee then, then the other waiter appears and adds back the main and coffees but deducts the wine for the confusion! Surprisingly I did not leave a tip.

Midday last Sunday we came across this cafe, entered and was ignored by no less than 6 staff. Finally a guy served us, he was attentive. Had a table outside but after 10 minutes had to go back in and ask to be served. At this point I should have left.

Finally, ordered a couple of breakfast focaccia things that we were told had egg, rocket, some veges etc on them with a passata sauce. It came basically as slightly warmed bread with passata. Noticed several people leave and commenting that the service was hopeless. Had to say it matched the food. Won't be trying again.

Beautiful room, view and great staff. But the food was the lack lustre performer- just lacked any interesting flavour except too much salt. And very small side dishes. Great Wine list, something for everyone and budget.

Actually had a call from the restaurant the following week asking me to rate my experience, which has never occurred before, so they are trying to win customers with service. Will give it another go and hopefully the food will catch up with the room and staff

I have only had the take away fish, chips and salad on 2 occasions. I asked for the fish to be grilled, with chips and salad, no problem, I get back to work and I have deep fried fish, chips and no salad. Unfortunate too far to walk back.

Today I tried again, it has been a while and it was a little mistake, the deep fried fish was ok so I thought I would give them another go. I ordered from the waitress, which was fine but the guy motions to take my money and says ' fish & chips- $8 ' and holds out his hand for the money, I enquire "that's with salad too" and he responds roughly, 'that's what the sign says isn't it?' - I said well just checking as last time I ordered I got no salad and fried fish instead of grilled, he basically shrugged me off. Not a nice person in my opinion. The waitress even look embarrassed by his attitude.

Even though the meal was nice for a little takeaway his attitude is poor and I would not eat-in for that reason. The first 2 reviews must be from family or friends, it surprises me there are not more reviews as this place had been around for a long while I think.

First time visitor after wanting to try for ages. Perfect Italian bistro, beautiful small room. I had beef cheeks, lovely and family had lamb. Will definitely be back!

An excellent venue, terrific service and lovely food combined to make a memorable, lovely Sunday lunch. Look forward to my next visit but will have to sacrifice entree so that I can try the desserts this time!

It's nice but not fantastic, and so a bit pricey as it lacks in somethings. The view is flawless. Missing some table clothes and the service is a little cold almost abrupt.
And it has a small selection of entree and mains - a few had trouble finding something that appealed. But a good location in a lovely setting which carries it over the line.

The $30 yum cha experience on a Sunday lunch was a hit. Very nice food, well presented and served in a pleasant atmosphere. Could not fault a thing at that price and you can BYO as well. Wish it was closer to Maroubra, will definitely go again.
