The food here is average. Started with garlic bread, which was reheated stale bread. We had the veal parmigiana which was really good and a Margharita pizza which was extremely light, in fact too light, almost paper thin and very oily. The gelato is excellent. However, the layout is terrible. Too many tables packed into such a small area. It's like eating in a school canteen.

Appalling. The food here is bland, has no flavour. Beef Fajita is like a cheap chinese beef stirfry. Chili con queso was just melted cheese, no chili. Chili con carne was tasteless, the side salad was like weeds. The waitresses could barely speak english. A waste of money.

This is the best Indian restaurant we have been to in Sydney. The food is excellent. The Butter Chicken and Beef Vindaloo are the best I've had. The staff are very professional. You don't notice they are there until you need them. Raavi's Cumin is very popular with young families. We went there on a Saturday night, and it was very noisy with many families with young kids running around until around 8:30pm. Then it settled down and became much more civilised. Next time we will book a bit later.

Update - 25 May 2008: This place has really improved since my last review. They've gotten rid of the incompetent staff and replaced them with a much more efficient team. The service is greatly improved.

Previous review - 23 June 2005: We have been going to this restaurant about once per month for the last 6 months. The food is excellent. It's usually extremely noisy and crowded. The service here is appalling. On the last 6 visits, they got it right once. Sometimes we get the wrong meal, or they give it to another table and you wait while they prepare another, or they take your order and forget about you completely. One time the waitress asked 'would you like the bill now, sir?' and we still had not received our meals. If the food was not so good here, I would not go back.

I have been here a few times and I have never seen any Japanese eating here which is not a good sign. The food is just ok but it's cheap. To get to the toilet, you have to walk through the kitchen which is filthy. The toilet is also not very clean, the door lock doesn't work, no towels, toilet paper and litter everywhere. Disgusting.

Mulligans Irish Restaurant, Chippendale

This place is an absolute gem. It has a cosy, old Irish, country cottage atmosphere. Very relaxing, we were able to have a conversation without raising our voices which I find to be unusual in Sydney restaurants. The service is excellent. Very warm, friendly staff and not at all intrusive. The food is magnificent. Chicken Mulligan's filled with smoked salmon and garlic butter is delicious. Thank you Sean and Eileen for a wonderful experience.
