Restaurants, Chinese, Yum Cha, BYO, Has Bar

Overall 7.3  18

3 Below Average

Food  5      Ambience  3      Service  1      Value  3

Went to Noble Palace for yum cha on a Sunday. The line was really long and had about 3 different members of staff ask us how many people and then whether we had a booking. The funny thing was, after each of them asking the set of questions twice each, they did nothing about seating us. About 15 minutes later, we were escorted to the dingy little corner, given a table for two with an extra chair - by this stage I had lost my appetite having observed the staff direct another table of six up and down stairs to wait when the group had two very elderly, immobile members.

The company I was with did order and eat and the food appeared to be presentable although just be wary that for 'special' yum cha dishes, get to know the wait staff or you'll miss out (i.e. preferential treatment is provided to friends). So if service you are not fussed with the quality of service, the food may be worth it.

Cafes, Chinese, Licensed, Serves Dinner, Serves Lunch

Overall 5  5

4.8 Average

Food  7      Ambience  6      Service  1      Value  5

Generally delivering consistently good quality meals at a reasonable price. The dinner menu has some unique dishes and the setting of the restaurant is nice.

The key flaw is the terrible service we have received time after time. Twice now we have been turned away from their doors due to workers not wanting to serve people past 8:00 pm. Such a shame as I have brought many friends and colleagues (working just across the road). Now I will be sure to redirect my business elsewhere, where it is appreciated.
