We went on a week night and shared the restaurant with a large table all speaking at high volume. It spoilt the evening for our small group as we were unable to converse due to the rowdiness of the other table. We just sat in silence, ate and felt we would have been better picking up takeaways and going home, where at least we could have talked. The food was ok and the seafood going out to the large loud group looked fabulous.

The food was good but not spectacular. I had expected something' that would differentiate this place from similar Indian cuisine but it was pretty much the same. Overall I would say, nothing wrong but lacking anything special.

Excellent food, basic surroundings, basic service. Servings are large and you need to be careful not to over order. If you want a lovely Vietnamese meal this is the place.

Fabulous menu and very authentic Thai food. The menu went beyond the predictable with many dishes on offer that are seldom available to Australian diners. We were very impressed - the waitress was friendly and helpful, the decor a bit dated but more charming than most other Thai restaurants. A cozy family atmosphere. We are already planning a return to this restaurant that we happened upon by accident.

Busy, buzzy and reliable. A great place to go for a cheap and cheerful meal. It's near a bottle shop which is great as the restaurant accepts BYO. The restaurant is often full between 7 and 11 and people happily wait to get a table. Nothing posh about this place but everything is tasty.

Simply Noodles is worth visiting for the Laska not the ambience. The seafood Laska is outstanding. I have only recently discovered it, I have never eaten such delicious Laksa before and fear I am addicted, it is better than anything I have had in Malaysia or Singapore. I have gone back twice in close succession.

The ambience thing is a pity, the service is of the buzzer on the table when the meal is cooked variety. One evening I was sitting near the counter, the staff knew it was my Laska but instead of calling me the loud buzzer went off making me and others near me jump out of our skins. Really a little more of a personal touch would be appreciated but my God the Laska is good.

Good food and friendly staff. A thoroughly enjoyable evening. A good BYO choice as a little better than many BYOs.

I decided to treat myself to a flat white and cherry strudel this afternoon. What an anti-climax. The flat white was weak, really weak. If I had made this myself at home I would have tipped it out and started again. Not only did it taste weak it looked weak too. Now the strudel, it looked fabulous in the cabinet and I was waiting in eager anticipation but Yuk! I think a very small number of cherries must have been flavouring and colouring the gluggy, starchy filling. It was simply awful.

Also the pastry was horrible, I don't know how the strudel was heated but suspect it was microwaved. The slice of strudel was $5.50 which was at the top end of the cakes and pastries on offer. If this cafe made this strudel themselves they should be embarrassed. If they bought it in they need to get a new supplier. I will never go back despite Cosmopolitan's convenient position. With the number of cafe's around, anyone who skimps on coffee beans and provides weak coffee is very very foolish.

I wandered into this restaurant just after it had opened and was greeted warmly and shown to a table by a window with a view of King Street. I ordered a pasta dish and to be honest, I didn't know pasta could taste this good. It was wonderful. Staff were still setting up for an anticipated busy night but I was certainly treated well despite the hustle and bustle. I would call this cheap and cheerful with just a little class. Highly recommended.

Silvas's provides an economical eat in meal but only if you choose chicken and chips. If you choose other menu options you are in danger of a budget blow out. However, chicken and chips is delicious at Silvas and you could argue that only a fool would order anything else anyway! Side salads supplement the chicken and chips and there is a good variety to choose from.
