We're locals so we didn't have to go too far to eat at Bloodwood. The staff (except our waitress) are friendly and helpful.

Unfortunately, our waitress was not, she forgot our order completely so after a bottle of wine and about an hour and a half we had to ask about it (the people next to us had arrived and eaten before we got ours). She was less than apologetic and we had to ask for some type of compensation which she begrudgingly had approved by the senior staff.

The food is good, not mind blowing but good. The waitress had a very bad attitude and funnily enough another friend went same night and made the same comment.
We'll go back and try to avoid that waitress!

I can see why people wld review Big Rig unfavourably, it's pretty much an 'in' place i.e. if you know someone you get great service (which we did) and if you don't it's pot luck.

Our food took a long time (40 mins for chilli fries) we had to hail the waiter and the sangria was over priced. we did have fun though because it's so low key. It felt a bit like high school kids playing at having a business which is funny considering the owner has Ruby Rabbit as well?

We arrived early so we didn't have any issues with a table (I'd advise this) we did, however, have issues getting the waiters attention and also getting recommendations for wine.

The waiter was completely self involved and very aloof. After quite a bit of work on our part we got the waiter to warm us so that he was mildly friendly but do you want to play the PR game when you go out to eat, really?

Thank goodness the food is great and well priced, with wine for three and ample food we paid $70 each, not bad.
