On a cold wet night I dined here recently with a mate, really enjoyed the pizza and the bruschetta, great atmosphere and very warm and cost, I reckon it would be sweltering in here in summer though. I note all the negative reviews, my mate who is a regular patron here says never get home delivery. I'll be back to try again, but am still wary, when I mentioned my positive experience at work, a few people raised concerns that they'd had very poor customer service experiences here as well.

Awesome dumplings, tasty, well priced and hand made, you can watch the guys through the plate glass doing all the noodles/dumplings. This place is 10 times the restaurant that din tai fung is.

Two lunches here now and two hits. Fabulous fit-out, too french to be french, over the top styling in tiles and ceiling but we loved it. Food is great, seafood delightfully fresh as well. We tried the "raid the cellar" lunch today, we spent $100 on wine per person and as a result ate for free, tremendous value. We'll be back again soon.

We eat at Harry's occasionally, usually when we have time to have a nice long slow lunch over several beers. The decor is average, the service friendly but awkward and the crab and roti are delicious. If you dig mudcrab try this place. If you are after a chinese meal, go to china town.

Really quite an odd little place. Whilst it does have some retro/neo Sth american ranch charm, the food just kills it. The meat platter for four people, claiming to be over 3 kg's of meat (from memory) was really just a big grill plate of overcooked gristle and fat. Don't bother with this place.

We eat at China Doll all the time, friends, family, work, great food, great location and the cheapest restaurant on the Woolloomooloo by a counrty mile. The house Chardonnay is also a ripper.Everyone we have taken for lunch here also enjoys it.

The only heads up I can give to people is that it's hot sitting outdoors in summer and can be too cool in winter and in addition whilst it's the cheapeast restaurant on the strip, I'd still budget for over $100 a had at least.

We dined at Spanish Tapas this evening prior to heading into the broadway complex for a movie. We walked in at approximately 7:30 were seated upstairs and offered some drinks. The restaurant was half full at this stage and allready swinging and very noisy.

The staff were friendly and helpful bringing our drinks promptly and taking our order for tapas. The sangria was great but exxe at $19 a litre. Interestingly a lot of the banquet menu's included softdrink and sangria for 3 hours (and food) for about $55 a head. This is relevant because our bill for 4 people, one soft drink and one jug of sangria was about $35 a head, so if you were in a large group or planning to tie one on the banquet would make sense.

The food here really is b grade at best, all was reheated (barely), we sent back the luke warm chorizo and the meatballs were cold. On a positive note the staff were quite friendly about it all.

If you were here as part of a big group it would be ok, as a small group much better value and quality of food can be found elsewhere.

We tried Pizza E Birra this evening on the recommendation of a friend. Pizza E Birra is on Crown Street in Surry Hills and looked like a reasonably warm and comfortable spot to rest on a cool and rainy Sunday night.

The restaurant does not take bookings, we arrived at 7:30 pm and were seated about 40 minutes later, we weren't in love with this but hey, the restaurant makes it very clear that they don't take bookings. When seated we were in the corner overlooking Crown Street, one of the best seats in the house.

Unfortunately, the restaurant would have been 30+ degrees inside, very very warm, too warm, however, when asked the waiter obligingly opened the window for us. We ordered a mix of Pizza's and pasta. The pizza's were all undercooked, soggy, lacking in flavour, vapid and uninspiring. The pasta's were good (the gnocchi) and very bad, the seafood.

The ambience was very very noisy and it was only a Sunday night, the service was friendly. At $35 a head with little to drink it is also expensive. We feel that on a hot busy night this place would be unbearable, it was barely acceptable on a quiet sunday night. We also feel that a pizza from Domino's would have been much nice and better value.

This place really is a welcome addition to the newtown scene, we dined with quite a large group, but notwithstanding this the service was great, the food delicious and the place just charming. The standout for me was a panfried fillet of snapper with butter sauce, it couldn't have been nicer. Our only advice would be to stay away from the desserts which were universally limp, drab and dreary.

Interesting restaurant, unfortunately we won't be back, whilst the food really was quite good, the service is just dreadful, rude & forgetful. We arrived at 6:45, our mains arrived after 9pm, well 3 out of 4 did, when all other people were done, we finally found a waiter, he delivered my main, and rudely said the chef was dumb and blind, when we called another waiter over when I was done we asked for the bill, he rudely said "what, so no dessert". Sorting the bill out took over 15 minutes. The food isn't worth the service.
