So we thought we would stop and try this place on our way to another indian restaurant. It turned out to be a great idea!

The most obvious and welcoming thing at Downunder Curry is their pricing. The value for money is excellent, with many of the mains under or just above $10 - great for those who take away.

No this is not the best curry restaurant in the whole world, but very few are. This restaurant gave us the basics of what we would expect from a good dinning experience: good food, value for money and reasonable service.

I must pay credit to the lamb vindaloo we ordered. The lamb was really tender, had great flavour, and most importantly the dish was HOT - finally, like it should be! To many times indian restaurants tailor their dishes for westerners - nice to see some traditional indian cuisine.

Conclusion: A very affordable way to eat 'home-made' style indian!

Well worth the drive! We had 4 very hungry blokes attempt the banquet, simply wonderful! Great value.

I suspose everyone is entitled to their opinion. but I must admit the worst part of this website is people who feel they need to label a bad experience as a score of 1/10 rather than providing us with an objective review of their dining experience.

I have been to Habayib on 2 occasions and it is certainly not a world-class restaurant, but that is far from the point. The food and dining experience is great, and well in proportion of the restaurants in its immediate area.

We ordered only entrees and mains. The lebanese sausages were fantastic, juicing and really tender. For our mains we had the lamb and chicken skewers which were also well cooked and served with a wonderful side of rice and yogurt. As many others have mentioned, the restaurant has a nice cosy atmosphere, and great for couples.

In particular I thought the service was great. Not too annoying, and allowed you to eat and chat without having the overwhelming feeling that the staff are trying to get rid of you to make way for more customers. On the downside, I thought that the meals were a little expensive (in proportion to the restaurants in the area), and my wallet took a small hit!

Would definitely go again.

A fantasic little Indian restaurant with a great relaxed atmosphere. Food is great for the everyday Indian fan, however I believe some curry dishes lack some authentic Indian flavours and would come under some scrutiny from enthusiasts. The Curry Cafe is one of my favourite local restaurants and can always count on them to produce great meals at reasonable prices.
