This place is Amazing! Every time I go the sushi is always beautiful and fresh. The service is so quick. Yum, yum, yum! can't wait till my next visit.

Red Lantern, Surry Hills

Went to Red Lantern on good friday for my friends birthday. After waiting 2 months for a reservation, we were really expecting something special. I did a trip to Vietnam a few years ago and really enjoy the fresh, Vietnamese flavours. I'm also a big fan of Luke Nguyen's cooking show on SBS. We were very much looking forward to our visit.

I am very disappointed to say that it really didn't live up to our expectations. The pork belly, green papaya salad was nice but lacked dressing and the rice paper rolls were similar to that available at any other reasonably priced Vietnamese restaurant. The free range pork chops we had for main were tasty but they were sliced into thin strips and contained lots of small, sharp bones.

The other main we ordered was wagyu beef with Vietnamese spices and it was terrible. It tasted like a cheap Indian rogan josh curry and the sweet potato in it was crunchy!? I don't mind paying big money for a meal as long as its up to standard. The mains were about $39 each and were very average. This restaurant is very over rated and over priced. Won't be going back.

Jimmy Liks, Potts Point

Went to Jimmy Liks on saturday night with two friends, after we couldn't get into Ms G's. So glad we ended up there! Wow.. We got our own little booth near the bar and our own waitress that took care of our every need. She brought us cocktails and helped us with the menu. She was a gem!

The food was amazing! Will definitely go back for the green mango salad with king prawns and sticky pork, barramundi red curry. We had a fabulous night. My only complaint is that the bar is very dark and you need a light to read the menu. Can't wait to return!

I have been going to Emads for 20 years and my family has been going even longer. The decor is terrible but the food is amazing! The staff are so friendly and the food comes out so quick! Don't order the banquet. Try the cabbage rolls, stuffed zucchini, ladies fingers and shish kebabs.
