Don't bother. The dirty worn menus should have warned us! Slow sloppy waitresses, below average food which took forever to arrive. Very disappointing!

I was the first person to review Leura Garage because at the time I was delighted with this new addition to Leura. Sadly they have lost the fabulous staff that used to be outstanding and made it such a pleasant experience. We spend our time between Leura and Paddington and appreciate good food, service and ambience. We left Leura Garage today very disappointed. The staff today did not notice that we had been in the cafe for 15 minutes.

Others who arrived after us were given menus and water. I went up to their cashier and asked for 2 coffees explaining that no one had been near us. A brash new female waitress eventually put down menus on our table but I explained we had ordered coffee at the front desk and she rudely said "you have been looked after then"! the coffee had still not arrived 5 minutes later I asked another waiter to check on it when he did not return and there was still no coffee 10 minutes later.

We found a better option down the street. What a pity. Catering for the dropin tourist is not so wise. As locals we used to recommend this place frequently as well as patronise it ourselves for meals and coffee. These new staff need to lift their game to the same standard as the ones who were there when it first opened. What an unpleasant experience today!

My husband and I enjoyed a fabulous dinner at Lucio’s on Valentine’s Day. It was excellent in every way. The food superb in presentation and taste, the staff were very professional and pleasant. However, as my hairdresser predicted the time between first and second course was only 8 minutes as we were given a two hour time slot, but surprisingly we didn’t feel too rushed. Highly recommended and we will be back.

We celebrated my husband’s birthday at Ashcrofts this evening. It was a very enjoyable dinner. The service was professional and unobtrusive.

We started with soft shell crab tempura and seared Alaskan snow scallop “mignons, and both of us elected to have the twice roasted crispy skin duck served with sliced potatoes and seasonal green vegetables. We were not disappointed!

All were beautifully presented and scrumptious with subtle flavours, melting in the mouth. My husband finished with the house burnt almond ice cream with almond tuile which was equally delicious.

Our wines and coffee were a perfect accompaniment. As one would expect it is a little expensive, however, it was fully booked out 3 days ahead! Highly recommended for a special occasion.

My husband, a friend and I lunch here yesterday and thoroughly enjoyed every minute of this experience. The weather was perfect and we sat on the veranda with a stunning view over a vineyard and green undulating countryside. The venue itself is delightful with up to date and atmospheric touches.

The service was most professional, helpful and unobtrusive. We shared a starter plate of prosciutto and figs, for mains two of us had kingfish while one chose duck. This was accompanied with mixed green vegetables. The desserts were so tempting that we did indulge in the rhubarb tart as well as a golden syrup tart. All was well presented and very tasty. The wines were excellent and we finished off with coffee. The perfect venue to catch cup with good friends!

Dining on New Year’s Eve at Silks was absolutely superb. They served a degustation menu of 5 fabulous courses. The service was most professional and welcoming; and the flavours, textures and presentation of the food excellent. We enjoyed every course starting with cream of lobster bisque with mild horseradish cream and tempura prawn and ending with a magnificent Bombe Alaska.

For our main we selected Beef Wellington with Madeira sauce served with a variety of seasonal greens vegetables. A very memorable meal! To add to the atmosphere a delightful Scotsman appeared playing his bagpipes during the evening for a short while. What an appropriate touch of New Year’s Eve. We thoroughly enjoyed our night.

One tiny suggestion would be for Silks to provide an optional list of suggested wines to accompany each course. Of course, they would need to be tiny glasses for 5 courses!

My husband and I celebrated our anniversary at Buon Ricordo on Saturday evening. The choices on the menu were so enticing that we decided to have the six course degustation menu with the matching wines. We were delighted with our decision. Every course was superb and the wines were expertly matched. We left it all to the chef and the produce of the season. The food is modern and up to date.

We had a wonderful table upstairs where the décor is very contemporary and features some amazing artworks. You would never guess from the exterior façade what lay within! The staff were very professional and courteous. Our desserts had a fabulous touch, “happy anniversary” was finely written in chocolate on our plates. It was a wonderful anniversary celebration. Highly recommended for special occasion dinners.

I had lunch here last Saturday with three friends. It was a heat wave of 40 deg outside and beautifully air conditioned inside. The food was beautifully presented and of a great standard. Because it was lunch in summer we ordered entrees and desserts with wine and coffee/tea. It was a perfect setting apart from when a musical item started up towards the end of our lunch near the entrance part of the restaurant.

They really needed to find a sound proof area for this karaoke type of performance away from the restaurant. Apart from that, it was a very enjoyable experience.

We had a great lunch here just before Christmas as a party of four. The staff were very professional and their service was excellent. The setting is very relaxed surrounded by fabulous trees in the gardens. We enjoyed our meals, well presented and delicious. A wonderful venue and enjoyable experience.

Such a pleasure to dine here. The whole experience was excellent. The staff were very professional and not intrusive. The entrees and mains were beautifully presented and delicious. Our seafood entrees were fresh with interesting touches. My husbands tuna and my duck for mains were excellent. The waiter discreetly asked if it was a special occasion. It was my husbands birthday and our sparkling wine pre dinner to our pleasant surprise became complimentary. A lovely touch! Highly recommended.
