I have dined at Rashays many times over the years and last night was definitely my last.

The quality of food and service has taken a very deep dive from what it used to be. Rashays used to be a trendy place for gen X & Y to dine and catch up with friends. It is now full of families with young, screaming, crying children. It is ridiculously loud, the tables are in very close proximity and the place has no ambience what so ever. Management have adopted the quantity over quality approach, ie get people in, feed them as soon as possible and get them out. This means that the majority of food is premade and microwaved which you can taste.

We ordered the chicken strips for our entree. The food came out less than 5 minutes from ordering and they are no longer hearty chicken strips, they are tiny pieces of microwaved chicken. Our mains, the beef nachos and rashays chicken came out 3 minutes after we received the entree, a total of 8 minutes after ordering!

Although some people would say not to complain when food is delivered so quickly, it rings alarm bells for me. The beef and chicken were both luke warm and had the very obvious microwaved taste. The sauce on the chicken was hotter than the chicken itself and the mashed potato was the horrid instant kind. No food comes out of the kitchen luke warm, unless ofcourse it has been microwaved.

We had to get the attention of a passing by waitress to ask for the menu for dessert. She looked at us like we were inconveniencing her. It took another 15 minutes to get the attention of another waitress to order dessert. Their chocolate sundaes are no longer traditional chocolate sundaes, they are 3 scoops of home brand vanilla ice cream in a bowl with milo sprinkled on top.

We felt robbed when the bill came to $75 for one entree, 2 soft drinks, 2 mains and 1 dessert. $75 for microwaved food? I think not.

Save your money for somewhere else at Campbelltown. The same prices but the quality of food is a world apart, you can hear yourself speak and the service is much more personalised.

It is such a shame because Rashays used to be a quality dining experience. Management need to realise they are losing business and their reputation with their current methods.

We dined here on a Saturday night and it was not overly busy. We had been waiting 50 minutes for our mains so questioned a waitress how much longer it would be. To our dismay she snapped at me "we are busy, that is why there is a wait, be patient!" and then walked away!! I could not believe it. If it wasn't for my wife asking me to leave it, I would have demanded to see the manager about the waitress' unacceptable behaviour.

The butter chicken is advertised as mild but ours was medium to hot. This was no good for the kids. It actually tasted like the instant butter chicken that you can buy in a satchel at the supermarket and was far from authentic. We requested cheese naan which came out as plain and when asking the waitress to have this rectified, she gave us attitude again. How some people rate this restaurant as the best indian in the area is beyond me, the service, staff and food is pathetic and we won't ever be returning.

Response from Management:
The waitress been fired, thank you for your valuable comment.

We dined here the other night and I have to say it was a disappointing experience.

The premises itself is well presented but very large. It lacks ambience and has the "packed in like sardines" feel with tables spaced very close together. It has more of a bistro feel and shouldn't be called a "restaurant and cafe".

Our drinks and entree, bruschetta was served promptly and our waitress was polite. For mains, my wife had the "Rashay's Chicken" with creamy mushroom sauce and I had the beef nachos. The chicken was dry and tasteless and we couldn't believe Rashay's claim this to be their signature dish. The mashed potato was the instant kind that you add water to a powder. Unacceptable considering the price was $25 for the dish.

The beef nachos were acceptable although the meat tasted like it had been made as a batch previously during the day and reheated. To sum it up, the food tastes mass produced. When asked if we would like dessert, we replied with a yes and asked for the menu. We waited 20 minutes for our waitress to return to take our order, however, it appeared she forgot about us. Another waiter noticed us waiting and took our order.

The bill came to $70. We felt this to be very over priced for the quality of food and service. We won't be returning.

I have been here for lunch twice with my partner and would describe the place as bulk eating venue that is more bistro style than a cafe. If you are after a basic place to go for a basic feed, you will probably be satisfied although feeling a little out of pocket.

We ordered the chicken ceaser salad, chicken schnitzel and beef nachos. The meals are of a generous proportion and we liked the "regular" (huge!) sized soft drink glasses. This enabled us to not have to order another drink each during meals. The meals themselves were acceptable, but over priced. The corn chips in the beef nachos were semi burnt and the chicken schnitzel was lacking flavour.

Staff are disinterested and it is hard to catch their attention to add to your order. I requested a water which took an unacceptable 20 minutes to arrive. Both times we have been here was for lunch when the place was near empty, I don't think I would attempt dinner.

Make sure you check the price of your bill against the menu because we were charged for 2 extra soft drinks we did not order.

We arrived here at 7 pm for a 7 pm booking. The waiter apologised as our table was not ready, despite the restaurant being half full internally and empty in the outside seating area.

Wait staff were courteous and enthusiastic, and our mains were served within 20 minutes or ordering. I had the lamb chops and my wife had the portugese burger. The lamb chops were requested well done but came out medium rare. Overall the meals were pleasant but over priced for the quality of the dish.

When we asked for the bill, it took 15 minutes for it to be delivered to us.
Overall, the venue and location are nice, the meals are pleasant but are over priced for the quality. I have had comparable meals at pubs for half the price.
Call me old fashioned but I don't think it is appropriate for female wait staff to be wearing short shorts either. If I wanted to see skin on waitresses, I'd go to hooters.

I went here last week for lunch after not having been for 2 years. The bistro is in dire need of updating as others have mentioned, it is grotty, so we chose to eat outside. We were the first people in there for lunch and still waited 40 mins for our food. I had the chicken schnitzel and my partner had the steak, which she requested to be well done. It came out medium rare. Meals are overpriced for the quality. Would hate to be there when it is busy.

Been here for breakfast and lunch many times and never disappointed. Staff are always efficient and courteous. Food is good. People need to remember this is a casual cafe not fine dining.
