Enjoyed a fabulous meal here on Saturday night, every course was brilliant, highlight for me was the venison with chocolate gnocchi. Beautifully presented, very tender meat. The side of truffle mash worked perfectly with it. Great entrees, desserts, wine and service also. Can't wait to go back. Going to buy a gift voucher for my sister's xmas present.

Had dinner on Saturday night with 6 girlfriends and we were seated in a sort of circular booth which was awesome. Really fun cocktails, great menu for sharing with friends, good wine and service. Very trendy restaurant but not pretentious. Would def recommend it for a date or with friends, looking forward to taking my husband there soon.

As per the comment on 4th January, a major let down is the lack of air con. Dined here on Saturday, 5th Feb, and with temps in the mid-high 30s, a 5 course lunch isn't as enjoyable as it should be. Food and service was lovely, but when it's that hot you do lose your appetite, and your patience for a long degustation. Please invest in air conditioning!

Enjoyed the degustation with wine last night. Similar to the previous reviewer, I found each course quite small, and I really wanted more of each, but was sufficiently full after the 10 courses. The scallop, with pork belly and onion bahji was my favourite. All the wines were very nice, though I wasn't overly keen on the sherry which accompanied the oyster. Service was good, professional, warm and friendly. Entertainment card knocked $40 off the bill which was great too.

Visited last night for their Tuesday degustation dinner, it was fantastic value at $50 for 7 courses with matching wines. Beautiful food as always, very flavoursome, quite a lot of seafood dishes. Salt and pepper squid, and the barramundi were the standouts. Very nice salads as well accompanying the entrees and octopus course.

We had a really nice dinner here last night. The restaurant decor, lighting and atmosphere is nicer than some other Thai restaurants in Newtown. The service was friendly and efficient. Food was great, yummy betel leaf prawn entrees, chick and cashew nut, and great flavours in their special crispy pork with chilli and basil.
We collected their take away menu and we hope they deliver as far as Dulwich Hill!

Thank you for your review and comments. We are very happy you enjoyed the meal at our restaurant. Crispy Pork Belly is very popular, I think it will become one of our 'regular dishes'.

Dulwich Hill is a bit further from where we usually delivers, but give us a call on the night, and if it is not too busy, and we have driver available, we will do our best.

Cheers.

OW is more innovative and challenging than some other degustation menus. I largely agree with gutsmagoo's comments below, I loved the gnocchi with coffee, though a couple of my fellow diners didn't like the combo. The chicken was a winner with everyone, and the chestnut dish, and the venison were also my favourites. The things I didn't like was the strong wasabi flavour with the tuna, and the celery sorbet, but they were received well by others. I think that's the great thing about OW, they are a bit more experimental so you either love what they're doing, or sometimes a dish just doesn't work for you.

Service was excellent, and atmosphere good. Going through the kitchen to an outdoor loo is disappointing, but they can't really help this, unless they made the dining space even smaller. I would like to see them introduce optional matching wines for each course.

Enjoyed a very nice birthday dinner here on Saturday night. My entree of scallops and lamb shank main were lovely. Good affordable wine list. Dessert was just ok - basil infused pistachio ice cream in a brandy snap roll, the basil was unnecessary and a bit odd. I wish I'd ordered the choc tasting plate. Very good service and nicely lit and laid out dining room upstairs. Good value, expected the bill to be higher for everything we had.

Visited on Saturday night, the food itself was lovely, and the restaurant and view is nice. The service is not good though, we felt that we were constantly asking for things, eg. wine list, dessert menu, water, etc, rather than being offered them. For the prices on the menu I would have expected a lot more.

Mains arrived while we still had our empty entree dishes sitting in front of us (a good half hour after we'd finished the entrees), we then had to pinch the cutlery off the empty table next to us when we gave up waiting for a waiter to return with cutlery to eat our mains. Had to ask for the dessert menu, received and returned the bill while our empty dessert dishes and glasses sat in front of us. You need to ask the staff for a key to go to the bathroom. Just not good enough when you're paying $20 for entrees and $30 for mains.

Response from Management:
We are sorry for your experience. We had 3 waiters call in sick on the night and as a result we struggled to get replacement staff at the last minute. I know it is no excuse however some things you cannot control and sickness is one of them.

Holy Cow is my favourite Indian restaurant on Cleveland St. It's a great place to go with a large group or as a couple. It doesn't feel as crowded or noisy as some of the other restaurants on Cleveland. Friendly service each time, and excellent value for money.
