Went here the other night and was very pleased. It's in a really pleasant, hidden away spot and the food was great.

This place makes GREAT scones!!! They are served literally straight out of the oven and taste fantastic. Really cute place, also. It's in a heritage old terrace and doesn't feel like you're in some restaurant where all they care about is making money. It's cosy and comfortable.

I recommend you book a table here before you go! Although it WAS Valentine's Day when we went, we walked in and had to sit outside because everywhere inside had been booked!!!
Generally, though, this place was nice. The food was really nice and the service was good. Not FANTASTIC, but we really had nothing to complain about...! (I'm surprised so many people have given it such a bad rating for service!)

We just went here for my birthday, and it was great!
The food was wonderful. Very fresh and flavour-some. The eggplant entree was interesting but really good. The Japanese paella was also great, we weren't really too sure what to expect, but it was worth it! The teriyaki salmon was beautiful. Servings look kinda small, but don't let them deceive you! We were pleasantly full (there were 3 of us) after 2 entrees and 3 mains.
Ambience: Not a particularly "private" restaurant. Although it was a very pleasant meal, I was a bit worried at the start that everyone around us would be able to hear every word we said, but as more people came in, it wasn't too bad. I think this might have just been because it's really quite small.
Service was really friendly! My sister told them it was my birthday early in the evening, and they remembered as we walked out. It was sweet. ^_^ They were very polite and served our meal with no problems at all.
Value was great. I expected the whole meal to come to around $80-90 for three people. We ended up paying around $65, which was fantastic! I would totally recommend this place. I think we'll definitely be back!

After having such bad experiences at the Parramatta store, I was hesitant in coming here. And rightfully so. I think the whole chain needs to re-evaluate who exactly they hire. The service here was no better than the Parramatta store. Despite the fact that there were only a few other people there, our orders all came out at different times, and one friend had to re-order his coffee!
My husband and my hot chocolates got mixed up, and the staff weren't friendly, apologetic, or anything. Our table was dirty and half the time, the staff just looked as though they were standing around doing nothing.
Food: OK yes... it's a chocolate cafe, and most people probably think that's yummy and great. It would be much better if it was a bit better quality. I honestly don't know why I keep going back. Even a hot chocolate there is really heavy, and I don't like the way I feel after consuming their food... and I'm a bit chocolate fan!
Hopefully that is the last time I go to a Max Brenner. Store location/s make/s absolutely no difference in anything whatsoever. Disappointing, really.

This is a cute little cupcake place! We discovered it by chance this afternoon, and just couldn't resist a cupcake! I love cake! But I'd definitely say it's more of a takeaway place. We sat in the tiny shop to eat our cakes, but it's so small so it can get a little crowded! For some silly reasons, they've also put tables outside. But because the shop's so small, anyone sitting outside is in the way of the cupcakes in the window. So that's a bit awkward!
The cakes were displayed and presented nicely. They look pretty. But I've tasted nicer. They weren't really heavy or anything which was good, but they still weren't the greatest cupcakes I've had. They make for a nice little snack, though.
Service was friendly and the staff seemed happy about their cupcakes which is really nice, and something you want going into a little shop selling cakes!

We went here last night. The last time we came here (maybe about a year ago), all plates were $2.50. They now range from $3 and... way up! I'm annoyed! I think their food has improved a little bit, but not enough to justify the price increase! Yes, the sushi is bigger than it used to be, and it does taste fresher, but I don't think they should have raised the price of their plates.
Service though, is still pretty good. The staff are friendly and willing to get you whatever you ask for.

I reviewed this place a while ago, but I'm changing it.
We went here today simply for A HOT CHOCOLATE. After walking into the packed place, we were ordered by the lousy waiter to line up along the counter, as if we were all stupid or something. If they are so desperate for people to do that, then they should at least put a sign or something, instead of demanding it from everyone as if we're all stupid.
The food, although something of a treat, is not worth the dodgy LACK OF ambience, lousy service and value. Yes, it's chocolate and rich, and yum (especially for chocoholics out there) while you're eating it. But we've been there a few times now, and I always walk away feeling heavy and bloated! Seriously... not all chocolate makes you feel that way!
The place is always crowded. Inside, it was hot, stuffy and loud. We sat outside, and instead were just saturated with cigarette smoke and the noise of buses and trains driving past behind. Not exactly what I'd call "nice ambience".
Service is THE WORST. We waited 20 MINUTES for a hot chocolate! The staff all seem inexperienced, rude, grumpy and act like they have NO idea what they're doing. I don't even know whether they have someone in charge there.
Not worth what you pay for. I doubt we'll go back. There are better chocolate places out there.

Went here for yum cha today! We arrived around 11 am which seemed like a really good time to get there. There was a line waiting outside when we left around an hour later!
Food: was your normal yum cha food. All the food was really quite fresh. The main issue we felt we had, was the availability. For a while we were just sitting at our table waiting for a particular dish to come around and it never did. But I suppose it's the luck of the draw when it comes to yum cha! It just would have been nice for them to have had a wider range of food going around on the trolleys.
Ambience: For a big Chinese restaurant, it's OK. Very dark, though, considering they've painted the place black! But otherwise, being upstairs, above the other shops, is pretty good. Since it is so large and so busy, I wouldn't recommend it if you're looking for a really romantic, secluded meal.
Service: I was actually surprised to find that many of the staff were quite friendly. Some yum cha places have really quite rude staff, particularly if you're not Chinese (which we're not). But I thought the staff today were in good humour. The lady serving us had a good chuckle when my husband accidentally asked for "chicken pork buns". LOL.
Value: It was pretty good. Considering I've had worse yum cha, this was OK. I think we paid $40 for quite a few plates. We were really full when we left, too, which is always good!

We got pizza delivered last night, so I can't really comment on Ambience. Anyway, we ordered the garlic bread, smoked ham pizza and the chicken and bacon pizza. The garlic bread was interesting, it was kind of just a pizza base with some garlic and butter. But it was good, because there wasn't too much butter and it wasn't too greasy.
Because I'm lactose intolerant, we ordered pizzas without cheese. The smoked ham pizza was disappointing. There wasn't much topping and it just needed more.
The chicken and bacon pizza, though, was pretty good. Could have done with a bit more topping, but it was pretty good! I'd get it again.
Our dinner was delivered when the people said it would be on the phone (sometime after 5:30). BUT the menu says they're open from 5 pm. Apparently their delivery guy doesn't even get there til 5:30, so we ended up getting dinner a little later than we wanted it. We actually decided to try Mumu because of their earlier hours than other places. So this was a bit annoying, and I felt like it was a bit of false advertising on their part.
Value was pretty good. Considering normally we'd spend at least $40 on a meal for 2 for one night, we ended up having enough to feed us for 2 nights. So $20 a night was pretty good.
